How exciting! I would say if you have the opportunity to take your dog to a trial and just hang out there for a good portion of that day that would be helpful. Especially if your dog is not used to going to trials or new places in general. The vibe of an agility trial is different and can stress some dogs out who are new to it. When I went to my first agility trial I just threw myself and dog into it, not thinking much. My dog was very nervous and anxious the whole time. We didn't work as a team like I'm used to. I should have taken her to a few trials beforehand, just to hang out and get used to them!
