I'm biased towards full metal jacket because I had a run with elder blank, 2 lodestones, 6th chamber and a crap ton of curse. Apparently jacket activates elder blank, making me functionally immortal. Good times.

I like full metal jacket. Don't have to think about blanking during bosses and helps me get the master rounds easier since it doesn't count as damage if you have blanks. Especially good to have if you have Polaris, Metronome, or meatbun. ;)

Full Metal Jacket isn't bad at all, I think you're being harsh on it because you see it as overrated and it might be. On the dook to banger supreme scale it's probably not quite a banger but it's close. My experience is that I forget about blanks more often then I overuse them, but either way knowing you don't have to worry about it makes it easier to do the dodging and shooting instead. It's definitely an item that gets less useful the better you get at the game. I guess there's an argument to be made that it's too much of a crutch for new players so they don't learn properly but you're hardly getting it so frequently that that's a real issue

There’s also the benefit of not actually counting as a hit, so if your using the balloon gun or the glass cannon you can feel a bit safer

theres only one situation that i can think of where Full metal jacket totally sucks and thats when you're playing Enter the Gungeon. other than that...

I believe full metal jacket to be a good item. Two reason: it allows me to forget about blanking, one less button to push and less brain power to use. Also it's pretty useful for bosses because if you save your blanks that's two extra hits you can take and still get the master round.

Love what you said about recognizing your misplays. I’ve gotten much more consistent strong runs because of trying to recognize my mistakes when I was worse at the game. It’s definitely the best strategy for getting quickly better at the game and it makes it a lot more fun for me lol. Thank you Reto ❤️

He's had Trorc in the breach for a long time now, check the end of the video. You get him by purchasing from him in the gungeon I think not talking to him

As someone who's decent but not pro at gungeon, (3/4 dragun %) I think full metal jacket is definitely nice, but I feel it only excels when you also have elder blank. Now THATS a good combo.

full metal jacket is great for getting master rounds and i like to think of it as selling both my blanks for extra health. also just like table tech blanks and clown mask full metal jacket is broken as hell with ammolets

In my opinion full metal jacket sucks because it uses my blanks when I don’t need them then because I don’t have any more blanks to get the master round.😢Also,I’m loving the series,keep it up!

I thought full metal was bad after the first time I picked it up, I don't like not being able to save my blanks, I like saving them for the boss to give myself a better chance of getting a master round. The only occasion I'd like to have it is for stuff like you said, meat bun, and Polaris I guess is the only other situation that I know of

i personally hate the full metal jacket. I just wastes all the blank you have, because you can just heal up after you get hit (unless you're the robot.) And because it wastes all the blanks, the bossfight gets much harder to master round.

I don't like full metal jacket. It spends my blanks on room fights, so bye bye master rounds or secret rooms. In some situations it is really good tho

I think that the only bad thing about Full Metal Jacket is that the tier is way too high. It should be just a letter lower, as it’s always overpriced in shops for its function. Otherwise, I love the item!

I have been playing gungeon for a few months now, and I can kill the dragon consistently with any character, but bullet hell, and the light both kill me 3/5 times, and full metal jacket allows me to collect as much armor as I can, while also collecting all the master rounds (because of course "blanking" isn't getting hit) and then when I reach the light I have tons of armor and health👍👍
