I have been a fan of Indian classical music since my early teens. Had the great privilege of attending a Ravi Shankar concert in Bangkok in 1966. I was 13 years old and it was the first concert I ever attended. A life-changing experience. I recently discovered that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was a visiting artist at the University of Washington school of Ethnomusicology in 1993. If only I had known, my wife is a professor at the UW and I might have been able to meet him! Thank you for your thoughts.
