49:52 that moment, the riff that kicks in, I can't with these guys The melodies preceding it for a couple of minutes already give me goosebumps, they're beautiful and enchanting and in a way prime you for that explosion of energy. But that moment itself, that instant , the intensity of it, it makes my heart burst, I've rarely felt emotions this strong when listening to music. Thank you Akhlys for putting this album together
Just when you think that Akhlys couldn't get any heavier or darker, they punch you in the face with this. What an achievement of an album, Naas Alcameth is a black metal genius!
@@juri_xiii9977 greece has many black metal bands for sure and one of the top tier black metal scene for sure, but akhlys and alcameth are one of the kind, also the name of akhlys is ancient greek.
Followed Akhlys since their birth and their other projects too; Bestia Arcana and Nightbringer. Clicked like before i started to listen because i know Akhlys is like Blut Aus Nord, always bring some new fresh stuff in an already fed up genre. ❤ Cheers from Sweden! 🤘 Thank all of you who are behind this dark, pitch black nightmare in music form ❤
Make sure to check out 'Aoratos - Gods without name' which is yet another band with Naas Alcameth and 1 of the best metal releases of 2019 and also Excommunion which is death metal but still great.
Melinoë avait atteint la perfection, ce nouvel opus n'a rien à lui envier. Superbe black avec de sales mélodies fantastiques flippantes à souhait, rythmiques sans concession avec un chant dévastateur. Encore du GRAND Akhlys ! Splendide 😶
This album is the pinnacle of modern Black Metal. The Vobiscum Satanas of the 20's. This is such a classic. The album is like when you play Setherial NORD on your birthday. Instant classic from an influential band. Try to deny it. This is BL ACK METAL. AND IT'S GOOÒOOOOD!!!!!🖤🦄
Please stop identifying yourself by the color of your skin. You're a breath of God just like the rest of us. Your opinion doesn't carry more or less value because you look one way or another. Just stop opening that door and you will have a better life...good luck to you Brother!
This album is SO GOOD! I thought that “Melinoë” was a solid album, and I wasn’t wrong, but this is even better! 😮the quality and production value is truly 10/10. So far I’m really loving the first track (“The Mask of Night-speaking”) a lot.
Black metal, from the moment it channels that fierce spirit, has no musical limits but the self-imposed limits of those involved. - DSO From my perspective, Black Metal is more than just a genre of music but more so a vessel of sinister realities made manifest in the form of sound. It's the encounter with the dark facets of existence that lead to this genesis. Usually created by individuals that have gone through a lot of suffering and existential dread on the one side and non conformity towards societal norms on the other side. That's the spirit of Black Metal. I'm glad to see it living on in exceptional Bands like Akhlys - and so the torch goes on. When it's time, I'll contribute my own exertion to Black Metal.
@@0x20pirate Thanks. I guess this matter is viewed according to one's personal inclanation or lack thereof. Blake perfectly put it like this: The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Or in this case: For some Black Metal is a briliant work of otherwordly darkness while for others it is just noise that's at least worth a troll. On another note it goes to show once more how through the decay of the internet age every fleshed out thought that's longer than a few words gets frowned upon as it is seemingly so far out there. Nietzsches last man is indeed a graspable concept considering how things are devolving. I'm not anticipating that this conversation is amounting to much. At the very least this one's served as a short reflection on my part.
They have done it yet again... and yet they have done THIS version of "it" for the first time, like they have always done before. At this point, Akhlys has proven that they have the intention - deliberately or as a natural occurrence (bit of both, I imagine) - of taking us deeper into the darkness than we can ever predict or prepare for with every release, despite believing we were already at the terminal depths of that journey during and after the last release. But maybe it isn't really about a "journey" after all, but rather about the distinct forms of an essence which appear to be in motion but simply take on new form when the previous nightmarish incarnation has been even remotely adjusted to - like a shapeshifting hydra of the psyche who's primary power is to always mutate into something you can never prepare for, never subdue, and never forget. I can honestly say I have never had so much faith in a band that is so elusive. What a fascinating experience it is to be alive with this music. I look forward to this albums power unravelling as I continue immersing in it, even in contemplation when it is speaking to me without the music playing. This. This is what black metal truly is. This is the lost arte and no matter what illusions we entertain throughout life and death, this is what we belong to in the end. If you are listening to this music or ever have, wherever you are or were -- it is not the music or what it is imbued with throughout that is in there with you, as if you're something happening to it... no, YOU are trapped in there with it, and it is happening to you. Might as well become acquainted now because you will meet again even when it isn't taking the form of music and it is no longer called Akhlys... This is darkness. This is death.
Don't know any band with such a dark , heavy, gorgeous atmosphere as Akhlys. With such an amazing vocals, majestic guitars and mas as fuck drummer, they create unique band 😍
There are people that dislike this? I just cannot fathom that. Naas has been doing great work for a long time, and each iteration of his sound gets even more fine tuned than the last...I mean, for lack of a better word, Naas is a master composer of these nightmarish landscapes, how can you not bathe in their glory? Hail!
Incandescent darkness that shifts and shimmers like an ethereal serpent within the celestial ether. I am smitten by the dark conjurations and diabolical light that Ahklys invoke with such spellbinding power.
I wrote a review for this record and I knew I was gonna give it a ten since I heard the first two singles, man this is the best modern Black Metal album this year and AOTY for me, eerie stuff.
At times their music is memorizing and at other times I feel like I'm about to stab myself in the neck and that is the beauty of the music and when I say stab myself in the neck I mean because of the insanity. They are true artist of their form just like Blut Aus Nord. Absolutely fantastic sounding and I can't wait to put absolutely fantastic sounding. Now I need a check on title when I get home to see if I can listen to it with my headphones
Never sleeping again Akhlys imposes their most terrifying nightmare to date but more will come if there a tomorrow… Reverence from the pantheon of my heart
I strongly suggest that you guys listen to Naas on the recent episode of the Sol Nox Podcast where he and host Karl break the album down track by track. Absolutely incredible
Once again: Is this metal anymore? The use of the guitars, the structure, the vocals, this is completely different from how a normal metal band composes their music. The semi-title track passage has exactly the same use of the "canonical" instruments. It is amazing how unnerving, how genuinely SCARY this album, this music feels. I have said it for Abigor as well, we are opening the door to something new and terrifying. The mix is absolutely delightful, perfect, crystalline, I love it. My only complaint I would have liked Sister Silence, Brother Sleep as an opener, it would have set a better pace. Still, fascinating work ❤
It's crazy how people have words to describe this I can't explain the feeling I get from all of their albums but this and melinoe are my favorites for sure
