AKIMBOT IS A 3D PLATFORMER that blends Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter. It still has unique ideas of its own, though. But does this lively platfomer live up to either PlayStation legend?
Triple Eye is an indie game focused RU-vid channel that primarily looks at smaller games and new retro indie titles. This is a channel that focuses on the positive side of indie gaming and highlights interesting stories in the gaming community.

Akimbot is a good game overall, it's just a shame it released just a week before Astro Bot (and has such a similar name).

It should've been called "Exe and Shipset" to keep the trend of PS2 3d platformers like Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter.

I had a feeling this game felt like a mix between Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter while playing it. Before I played it I just thought this would've been just only like Ratchet and Clank.

Just finished the game and had tons of fun with it I hope this game gets a sequel because platformers are always welcome in my opinion Also I loved Exe's and Shipset's friendship dynamic aswell because it kinda felt organic

I will buy it for the holidays and play it in Virtual Reality with the UEVR mod 😊 Can't wait! It's been on my Wishlist for a while and I will start with Pumpkin Jack during Halloween (also in VR) from the same developer, which gave me a very good first impression of his work.

@@TripleEye_Josh yeah, but the general quality should the same. Its a competent developer. Did you ever try a VR jump in run game? The first Astrobot, The first Lucky's Tail, Ven VR and so on? I've really rediscovered my love for jump in run games with VR and especially with the UEVR mod. These charakter driven games with their cartoonish worlds work exceptionally well :)

I'd also say the marketing wasn't too hot either, as I only just became of it through this video youtube recommended me. Wonder if it appeared at any of the game showcases over the summer?

Game looks dope BUT! The player being slightly on the left and not centred (like in Fortnite) really bugs me.

I gave this game a shot but abandoned after the first 2 levels. The level design is way too long and monotonous. It felt like I was experiencing deja vu inside of a level editor. I didn't expect this to be as expertly crafted as the Ratchet & Clank games, but i'm not gaining any value out of the prolonged repetition, i.e. i'm not learning or experiencing new arrangement of mechanisms, gaining mastery, or earning new progression; i'm simply tasked with processing the same inputs (obstacles, tasks from the game) and getting the same outputs...

i simply could not deal with the dialogue in this game. i couldn't make it past the first level from the sheer cringe factor.

If they made it for steam they would not have that problem they jave more pc player than counsel player they limit thoer own chas flow bu making it for counsel only 😂 even god of wat come out on steam cause the development team know they can make more money on pc than console 😂 that what even save Capcom from bankruptcy cause they made monster hunting world for pc

I hear you. Its not going to blow anyone away, but its good. I do wish there was a little more focus on the platforming, and more interesting platforming challenges.

@@TripleEye_Josh Personally I wish the Platforming was more dynamic or added a mechanic that adds depth to the platforming like Spyro, Crash, Psychonauts, or Mario just to name examples off the top of my head.

@@alphabo2776But Crash and Mario and Spyro are way better. Yeah, it is R&C style. R&C style kind of sucks as a platformer, its saved by its polish, charm, and being judged more as a shooter.

Just for being a game with Ratchet-like gameplay, Akimbot is one of my favorite games that came out all year. That's how much I love Ratchet-style gameplay and we don't get much of these anymore, so it's nice to see stuff like this pop up.

dont get fooled guys. this game is far from good. it looks like fun but it feels really bad and the annoying robot never shuts up. This does not even come close to the platformers like ratchet and clank.
