They just don't make Sci-fi like they used to do they :I The attention to detail and focus on atmosphere and experiencing the world. Making it all feel alive even without adding a bunch of characters on screen or pumping out unnecessary exposition. Damn we need more of this!!
@@ross8665 Yeah but many of the things I expected weren't even additions, you promise a game and stall the release and people will expect the game to be completely finished, I really don't know for sure the cause of this.
If I remember correctly this movie made Masashi Kishimoto draw again. When he was young he has some kind of art block like most artist but one day he saw poster from this movie. He was amazed. He was admiring all details in drawing, the perspective, everything. Next day he start drawing again. More than ever. I read this in manga book I bought and was very curious where I saw this style. So I guess I will watch it. He's huge inspiration for me to draw, as other great authors. Thank 9gag for taking me here. And thank you for this amazing video.
Nothing but complete awe and respect for the people who worked on the movie, the animation and soundtrack... Please watch the movie if you haven't, if not for the story then the animation. Also listen to the original soundtrack of Akira-- it compliments the animation at a level I wish I could achieve.
@@somebody7138 no I don't believe so. Blade Runner came out in 1982 and Akira came out in 1988. An anime that really reminds me of Blade Runner in story and aesthetic is Ghost in the Shell which I highly recommend
If I would have to live in Akira's world, i'd seriously consider suicide. I have never encountered a more grim world environment that this. The problem is that it seems soooo realistic it hurts x.x (which brings me to the point > amazing piece of art with this immersion)
@abubakar and abuzar I watched the anime (original one) and while the ending was brutal, it is a tale of a group of people rather than dystopian environment where everyone are miserable, even the rich.
@@then00brathalos I'm sorry for my lack of knowledge, but what is 40k? Or what exactly did you refer to? I'd like to watch or look into that as it intrigued me.
Thank you so much! I had a ton of fun making it. I'm really glad you took the time to view it and luckily enjoyed it. Your comment makes this all the more worth it
you people really need to see this movie (for those who haven't yet) and look at the details.....g-damn it's crazy af...more than any anime or anime movies you see nowadays
I love this movie. I love the manga too, but I feel like with it's longer story, it feels the need to worldbuild the heck out of itself, I feel it was still even more confusing than the movie. Also I like Tetsuo in this better. The one in the manga is basically a drug addict and we don't get that much about his character. In the movie, we get he angry, scared, inferior to Kandeda. This movie is very much his journey.
@@poly3706 thanks so much I really appreciate it. Btw I think I can make the Rainych version work i would just put the same clips over Rainychs version. I can let you know when I make it
