Hey Akira Bike Project fans and newcomers! Welcome to the first of many new videos and updates.
Follow along while I'm designing and building a fully functional high performance recumbent motorcycle inspired by Kaneda's ride in "Akira" in this ambitious motorcycle project.
It's been a great and challenging journey so far, and before we jump into all the new progress I wanted to get a video background for new fans of the journey so far. So sit back, enjoy, and take a ride with me. Part 2 and more coming very soon.

Your personal photos show how long the journey has been (he says with a 12 year old profile picture). Hope this is the year.

Thanks for following the project! Yeah it's been a while, but that's life, this year is definitely looking promising so I'm hoping for substantial progress.

I was just thinking about your channel, I cannot believe youre still going. I started watching you when I was about 13, and now I'm 29, married and have a kid. I really want to see this project finished

Wow, well thanks for following the project so long! That's a passage of time that's just a bit depressing for me dwell on, but I'll stick with it until it's done, I hope you all will too. I'll never outgrow the fine art that is Kaneda's ride, glad to see it looks like I'm not alone.

@@matus1976 dont look at it as something depressing dude, instead be proud. Sure the project has taken longer than expected but you have fans that has followed you for over a decade. That is impressive

@@Mirinmaru That's true and it's a good way to look at it that I hadn't thought of. Thanks, I appreciate it.

Nothing wrong with square or rectangular tube, my Honda VF1000R is made with it. The Honda VFR750 has a large rectangular aluminum frame. Disregard the round tube "pureists", most have and never will build anything so they have a lot of spare time to criticize.

Yeah, so true, and well said. Round tubing is 99% about weight optimization, and even then, it's not a huge amount. No need for that additional complexity for just a prototype. I was expecting a big rectangular twin spar frame when I image searched that VF1000R frame, but it is just a square aluminum tube version of a typical motorcycle frame!

@@matus1976 I had a recent college engineering grad give me grief about my using square aluminum tube. Another club member with an engineering Phd set him straight about round tube. Do what works, ignore the trolls, follow your dreams.

@@matus1976 From your webpage I learned you are in the Seattle area. Let me know when you are going to test your bike, I live just across the lake in Redmond.
