TL Notes 2:00 - The only thing I added to this was the subtitles/text. All music, static, etc is all from her archive. 4:05 - Aruran mentions it happening in the Kanto region, but the big quake in June of 2018 was in Osaka, the Kansai region. Japan has lots of quakes, so I'm sure he just misremembered. Mirrativ - It's a streaming service. I don't know too much about it. Dospara - It's basically a Japanese NewEgg.
Gen 1's experience truly seems like a Spartan trial where they were thrown to the woods armed with only a phone, killed the wolf with it, and returned home as Idols/Comedians. And Aki went for the hard mode setting with out a PC on top of that! Nothing but respect!! Thank you so much for the clip 🙏
Right? 3 months is so long, especially after debut when you don't even have an established fanbase yet and Hololive wasn't yet at the level where you just kinda get a solid base level of viewership. So much respect
@@statskytl I guess thats what happens when starting out at anything, specially on a relatively untapped medium (at the time). Thankfully they all found some solid ground to stand on and are still with us right now.
Newer fans really don't know, they are just so used to seeing new gens debut to 500k subs. I'm proud of how far they've come and all the hard work they put into making Holo what it is now. Also with Holostars, I remember when Rikka had like 1k subs, I subbed and wasn't sure exactly who he was lol
Its kinda fitting that she's talking about this with Aruran here cuz he's a gen1 Stars member and they had a pretty rough start too. Just imagine how the audience of an all-female talent agency (at the time) would react when male talents are suddenly introduced.
This helps put into perspective her early struggles with viewership, too... Aki's is a story of perseverance and unexpected success... I discovered her around the time she was pouring out gratitude to us overseas viewers and she's since become one of my favorites. Excellent bits of Holo-history here. You deserve way more subs!
My first time in her stream, i think it was an endurance singing stream, after she got the outfit she currently wear, i think? I feel nostalgia and and a lot of feelings in her singing voice, comfy feeling even when the song she sang was something I never heard before. She became the diva in me even before i knew about her struggles. She's too underated.
Back in those days, streaming as a Vtuber was such a new thing, nobody really had any clue or experience. Cover and Hololive were also so small and lacked both the managerial infrastructure and technical skills. All that on top of Aki's bad luck is so tough, but that's what's so inspiring about her - no matter how hard it gets, Aki always keeps adapting, improving, and moving forward with an unbreakable attitude!🍎💪 And Aruran must really relate to that hardship, being Gen1 of Holostars, his own Vtubing start was incredibly tough. Really shows how much Cover/HoloPro has grown and built up over the years, becoming more professional and being able to provide great support to their new talents
Yeah holopro/Cover is really good that it is actually more common for persom who just fall into a rabit hole to think Cover is big company compared to Anycolor when it actually opposite
That first stream from Aki was... Korone's first stream was cringe in a funny way, we could laugh at her fumbles and how far she's come. Aki's one was hard to watch, I just felt bad for her, but I'm glad I saw it because it just makes me appreciate her determination even more. Even though I've been watching vtubers since early 2020, I love that I can still learn more about them. Listening to those early days stories makes me think, some of the best and most successful things in human history were built by trailblazers, people without a map fumbling forward through passion and determination, making mistakes and learning from them. I think this shows in Hololive's enduring success and how they're still so unique in a now saturated market that's trying to capture that success. Reminds me a bit of World of Warcraft in a way (let's hope Cover don't go the Acti-Blizz route though, in YAGOO we trust). Big Ups for this lengthy video mate, this stream hasn't been getting enough love with clips, really appreciate it. Edit: Based on one of your comments you've not been watching vtubers long, so welcome to the Rabbit Hole! It's comfy here.
That glimpse of her early days just melted my heart. She's my one, true Oshi, she always seems to be on the edge of greatness but never seems to get a firm foothold.
@@ikr9358 I feel like she's in a very comfortable place right now, considering where she's been. I noticed that after the ARK 2nd season, Mukiroze really gained traction among the JP audience. I was shocked to see over 10k viewers on her first ARK stream! Ever since then I've noticed she gets really solid view counts on par with most others and her chat is back to being 90% Japanese instead of like 40%. I remember feeling a little sad back in the day, always seeing her have such low numbers compared to the rest despite being an OG, but I've since realised that it doesn't matter too much, especially in Hololive. Their culture of giving everyone a chance and "a rising tide lifts all ships" mentality made me realise that. Her music/performances are still criminally underrated though I'm with you there!
Man, Aki's early days in her VTuber career really were...something to say the least. But with a will as strong as Mukirose himself, she managed to power through so much hardship both back then and every other difficult day after that, and is still with us today. Which is something I'm truly, truly, TRULY grateful for 🍎❤ Thank you very much for the clip! There were many things I couldn't pick up on in the stream, so I appreciate you efforts very much 🙏✨
Yeah, it really was wild. I was surprised when she mentioned that management wouldn't even give her Sora's contact info. They were probably worried about privacy and probably didn't consider themselves a "company" at the time so they defaulted to the safe option of "no, sorry", but it's still wild how the talent pretty much had to fend for themselves. Such a different environment from now.
@@statskytl Yeah, that was crazy to hear. Huge respect to Sora and the 1st. Gen for pulling through, and for playing a huge part in giving us today's Hololive 🙏
Akirose is my oshi in JP. I'll never get tired of her stories about the early struggles she faced from the beginning. I'm happy she overcame the shadows and we can enjoy her talent today.
Wow! That's all I can say is wow! I can't believe she streamed her debut with just her phone! My god... if that's not perseverance I don't know what is! Aki-chan and all of gen 1 is truly amazing!
I think Akirose's story shows us the value of perseverance. Despite things going badly for her since debut she withstood through the hardhips to the better times.
Thank you for TL-ing! I've been waiting for the clip and TL for this particular stream but my JP is not good enough to catch everything :") And now I learned just another awesome hololive history.... Akirose is amazing!!!
Hololive Gen 1, the Beta Testers of Hololive. Subaru didn’t even know it was an idol group. When Okayu signed up for Gamers she didn’t know she was also supposed to do the idol stuff. Early Hololive was wild.
Oooohhh I was waiting for someone to TL this stream, thank you! I don't watch aki live because language barriers, but from what I've seen she's pretty awesome and does care a lot for her viewers, and her will is strong af. I'm glad she did this stream with aruran, she has a lot to tell it seems! Good clip 👍
Nice! Maybe you already have, but if not, I recommend her 3D lives, particularly Rose of the Lamp and Wonder Shower Musical, the latter being a straight up Alice in Wonderland musical. They are masterpieces that don't get as many views as other holomem 3d lives.
Some things are utterly unfamilar (Aki streaming at noon? These days we're lucky if she streams at JST evening), and some being very familiar (bad timing/horrible luck/missing out on things) I personally contend that Einnashu and those first Rosetai save Cover from a gravely embarrassing incident. Thanks for the TL/Clip though.
@Statsky TL hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer for the new date being announced. Compared to the sheer uncertainty, waiting until a set date is easier. Also hope you'll clip her more
Wanna hear a funni story? After watching a different clip of this same collab, Akirose appeared in my dream. No jokes, no clickbait, that's what happened the other night. She was there, just smiling and even talking to me(because the dream was in my pov). Time to oshi Akirose I guess? Wwwww
Man, I don't blame Aruran for saying "I couldn't imagine debuting without a PC!" We really take a lot of our tech for granted, but Aki and the others really put in the hard work to make everything work. o7
Im not from her mirrativ days but i installed it because of her. Funy thing is the only time i watched holomember on mirrativ is when subaru for some reason decided to stream there and not twitcast
I can imagine ai vtubers handling this same topic a few years from now- if they're allowed to keep evolving in awareness. Would be so funny to hear about their thoughts on updates like stages of their lives 😆 and how they interpret chat/ humans over that time frame.
