Wow now you are bringing back some memories. i visited Chalkida in 1994. I made so many friends and were even adopted by a Greek Mama. I almost missed my plane because I ran back to her bosom crying. I want to stay here!!! Thank you so much for this.
as a greek man i totally agree. Sadly i live in athens the capital and its definetely not like that but everytime i go somewhere else be it crete corfu evia skiros. that when i feel im in truly in greece such wonderful people and beatiful places. i wish athens would be more like that but maybe im asking for too much
I grew up with French and Italian culture from both my parents. To me Greek food is so much better than Italian food. You did an amazing job with this episode. I can't imagine the amount of work you had to put in with your team to deliver such fantastic content. Thank you!
Thanks for your comments on Greek food. Being Greek/English/Irish but growing up in the UK, I often feel like French food (particularly before) and Italian food, and even Turkish food to some extent, are seen by British chefs and British people as superior to Greek food. I love food and cooking generally, and appreciate having lived in a country that is open to and has access to such a range of cuisines. But Greek food is my favourite, and it deserves to be respected as the cuisine from which most other Mediterranean cuisines get their roots. ☺
How to advertise your country, culture and food 101! Greece, my home away from home... At least that's how I feel when I'm there! Greetings from Romania! 🇷🇴❤️🇬🇷
if you never been to Greece you are missing out its seriously one of the prettiest countries in the world and people are so nice and chill. I am definitely spening my next vacation there again!
I've been wanting to go see Greece but I need to apply for a visa first (for non-Americans) and I live in Hawaii where there is no schengen-visa Europe Embassies/Consulate General Offices here, I have to fly to the Mainland just to apply for visa. I cannot afford to do 2 trips, Mainland & Greece, both in the same year 😭
My wife (who is Greek) is interpreting the shows for me. I am learning Greek slowly and we are watching your episodes backwards from the end to the beginning. We love them. I hope to follow some of your recipes soon when this virus stuff is over. Thank you and God bless.
I am so happy to see your food tour of Greece Akis, efxaristo para poli, apo to kanada, come to Canada or North America and you will be like a rock star!
I love Greece...the BEST country, for sure. I wished to been born in your country but I'm OK with just visiting once a year:)Great places, great food and what a great show!!!Keep it going, folks👍😀
Amazing to see the geography and authenticity of Greek produce, I just can't believe how beautiful it really is there! Thank you for showcasing Greece because my grandfather was from there and my mother born in New Zealand! 🇬🇷🇳🇿
I’ve now got my mum watching you Aki ❤️ This video reminds me of my yiayia. I miss her. Can’t wait until the borders open up again to visit beautiful Greece 🇬🇷
I was in Chalkida for a few weeks over the summer while volunteering at Ritsona Refugee camp. I absolutely LOVED Chalkida and everything about it. I even got to see the tides change next to the board walk since I spent a lot of time walking and relaxing by the sea when I wasn't at the camp. Beautiful place, lovely people, and such a welcoming atmosphere.
I'd like to say Akis that you are the one who taught me how to cook. I was so used to beig served. Thanks to you i serve in our family dinner. ❤ thank you
OMG this episode had me on the edge of my seat. I've never been to Greece before but this is a very inspirational presentation of the food, culture and hospitality of your beautiful country, with interesting international influences. Sending love from Indonesia ❤
This was fantastic re Aki. 10/10. I miss Greece so much. This is also a great way of showing folk how much variety we have and why Greek food is massively underrated. Also its good show Greek food infused with spices and things from other countries
I enjoyed your tour Akis and the food is amazing and especially how you treat people, you have a pure heart 👍 You are a good model 🙏❤ beautiful inside and out. Thank you so much to and your team. God bless you
Hello Akis. This series was great, really enjoyed seeing the beautiful places, people and food! Please do a follow up series? There must be so much more to see! Xx
Wow! This is fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful country, wonderful food, entertaining host, what's not to like? Thanks! Looking forward to the next one!👍😀
Your food tour is envious. How we missed out touring to such lovely places in the wilderness. Great although the videos can't be viewed clearly, less light but saved by a suggestion of one of your admirers of opening up the subtitles in English.
This is amazing Akis!!! Really enjoyed the adventure with you visiting the different areas, people and the mouth watering food!!! Can’t wait to see the next one 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
´Aκη είσαι άψογος σε όλα!!!
Thank you for the English subtitle!!! I have been guessing what you were talking about for so long, lol I think I learn a few Greek since, such as 1, 2, 4 "now" , also potato, tomato :) I Learned a few things in this episode about truffle, chickpea Umami. I sure missed the Greek yogurt with honey, big serving of Feta on salad whenever I visit Greek islands
Thank you so much for translating!! I watched it in Greek and didn't understand anything, but I liked it anyways because what I saw was amazing! But it's great to understand everything, it's very interesting and it's good for learning Greek :) ευχαριστώ!!
Would LOVE it if this had English subtitles. I watched the episode and know that I’m missing out on a lot of information. Love hearing the Greek language and would enjoy understanding the content better! I figured out how to turn closed caption on!! Yeah!
Try Samothrace island. In Profitis Ilias go to O Vrachos tavern, and , near the sea to Karydies. Boath very goid and special goat dishes and at Karydies ask for fried beans
Did you get the Coke gig for Greece it looks like you advertised for them a few times there. The moringa tastes best if you eat it fresh off the tree, it is supposed to be very nutritional and good for anything that eats it, that's part of why I started growing it. Is that your whole crew at the end of the video? Thanks Akis, that was several good dinner ideas. I didn't know you could use honey for sweet and sour sauce, they usually use pineapple juice I think.
Haha to be fair, in terms of absolute temperatures, Greece can get MUCH colder than Ireland. Unfortunately, in Ireland, the cloudy and cold weather is for much longer than in Greece.
Love your programmes but question whether you're sponsored by Coke due to its major presence in each episode. Thanks regardless for making Greek recipes appear easy.
