We are back in Panay Island and we are starting our journey in Aklan. We only have a day to spare for Kalibo so we went straight from the airport to the town central where Pastrana Park, Kalibo Cathedral and Museo It Akean is located. We attended the Sunday mass at the Cathedral and enjoyed our lunch at Ramboy's, a homegrown favorite, before checking-in to our accommodation at Hotel Simone.
After a much needed afternoon siesta, we then explored the Bakhawan Ecopark and was amazed to see the vast beauty of the Mangrove Forest and the gorgeous sunset over So-oc River.
Chill vibes continued as we had our dinner at D' Backyard, a local restaurant in Kalibo.
We hit the road the next day and headed to Tangalan, another Municipality in Aklan. First stop is Jawili Falls, where we were met by many surprises... trekking, rock climbing and fresh water basin bath to name a few. Few minutes down the road is Jawili beach, the dubbed Boracay alternative when in mainland Aklan.
