14/54 countries isn't "Africa". It's lighting up 14 countries in Africa. The African narrative is complex and diverse and treating a huge continent as a monolith will only aggravate it's problems.

George Gathiani People like you are so ungrateful. How do you expect him to billions of money to lighting the whole africa??? Fool like you don't need anything good. He has still help people who luck electricity for 14 countries and 14 countries is not 4 countries. It's actually a lot and he is still willing to lighting all the countries in africa

Firstly, every one of those 54 countries has electricity. The issue is parts of certain countries, like Chad & Nigeria don't have access to electricity continously & if they do it's often at an exuberant price. 99% of the North of Africa Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia Libya etc have electricity. 70% of the central/southern countries like Botswana, Namibia, Angola, South Africa do too, the majority of those 54 countries don't need Akon's help. You don't think that a former rapper, taking the time, effort and funding to provide reliable electricity to 14 countries is a great achievement? Do you know how big Africa is?! You could fit all of the US, China, India & most of Europe in Africa. It's HUGE! He's doing a wonderful thing & should be commended.
