Forget the Taj Mahal, GO SEE AKSHARDHAM! IT IS LITERALLY THE 8th WONDER OF THE WORLD, Stuart Sims.
Namaste, Louise and Stuart Sims
Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi epitomizes 10,000 years of Indian culture in all its breathtaking grandeur, beauty, wisdom and bliss.
It brilliantly showcases the essence of India's ancient architecture, traditions and timeless spiritual messages. The Akshardham experience is an enlightening journey through India's glorious art, values and contributions for the progress, happiness and harmony of mankind.
The grand, ancient-styled Swaminarayan Akshardham complex was built in only five years through the blessings of HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and the colossal devotional efforts of 11,000 artisans and BAPS volunteers. The complex was inaugurated on 6 November, 2005.
Akshardham means the eternal, divine abode of the supreme God, the abode of eternal values and virtues of Akshar as defined in the Vedas and Upanishads where divine bhakti, purity and peace forever pervades.
For the first time ever the world witness the heritage of India in all its facets, insights and beauty at the Swaminarayan Akshardham through its mandir, exhibitions, verdant gardens and other attractions.

Wow, That's impressive! There is nothing like India and Vedic culture on this planet. I am American and was exposed to the teachings of Bhagavad-gita by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada back in 1976. I've been to many holy places and temples in India and never get tired of this fascinating culture. Everything from the food (prasadam) to music to people to language to dance to literature and architecture it's all nothing but AWESOME! No other culture or place even comes close. Hare Krsna!

A mordern temple in 100% ancient Vedic Style ..its nice to know that even after years of oppression Hindus have not forgotten their Ancient Heritage and the teachings of Saints. From Muni Narad to Bhagwan Swaminarayan to Sri Pramukh SwamiJi it is saints like these who have kept the Vedic Dharma Alive & no matter what Anti-Hindus say , think or do , as long as Saints like Pramukh Swami are there, nothing can happen to the religion of the Rishis.

I really hope that the muslin fundamentalists will not try to destroy it, as they already had destroyed most of the Indian and Budhists temples in the past, and also, many christian churches in all Middle East and North Africa.

Do not Compare Akashardhsm and Taj Mahal because both are different because Taj Mahal is love for Wife .and Akashardham is love for God and Ancient Indian Hand Crafted art,Architecture, Engineering and Indian culture

Great temple, and great architecture. India is back on the path of Glory of the past. A must see temple. It was due for a city like Delhi to have such a marvelous temple. It contains the beauty of old archeology combined with new facilities for viewers. A Majestic temple.

It's truly 8th wonder of India; where its impossible to create same akshardham in just 5 years...where taj mahel took massive time to built it. where akshardham took only 5 years to built it with huge film "imax show" which is india's first massive spiritual movie, and nauka vihar which none has in india and musical fountain such as "sahaj anad water show" and "sat chit anand water show" which is very 1st time in india made by BAPS only; no other company or organization has single thing which BAPS and AKSHARDHAM has. akshardham is proud of India. one experience is enough to remain Indian culture and 8th wonder too. visit it once in life;then you better know everything.

After watching this exquisite spiritual creation of this temple,my consciousness asks me what if India was totally free from corruption of all forms, and the many seemingly unsolved problems of India, were to be solved in the "spirit of the volunteerism and devotion" of "Dharma" ? ..India truely would be the Heavenly place to reside. But the realities of modern day India,is so overwhelming,I wonder if its average citizen can ever be free from the "hypocrisy from within" in its many forms.

Awesome! Truly, an amazing feat. Put together, 1500 years of architectural wonder at a glance. Millenniums of Indian culture and glory to showcase. A spiritual abode to the blessed seekers of immortal wisdom. Glory of the ancient Vedas and Upanishads in a capsule. What more could India give to the world? A wave of humanity sweeps through the complex. Vibrancy at its core!!! A must see for every Indian and all visitors to India. India's Pride! Cheers to all the people at helm and temple workers!

@gllladki Temples (Or any Archaeological things like forts, lakes etc) maintained and managed by ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) charges nominal fee of INR 5 for Indians and INR 50. The fees charged by ASI are for maintenance and research purposes, so that we can preserve such gems, and discover many such archaeological wonders!

studied vedas, gita, long ago, correct me if I am wrong.i LOVE hindu scripture,i am not hindu, but I really believe all religions also meld and reveal the truths.BUT,don't most hindu's believe in ETERNAL reincarnation, thus severing it with BUDDHISM,WHICH LIKE CHRISTIANITY,has NIRVANA,true nirvana is END TO ALL REINCARNATION,IT IS WHERE THE SPIRIT MERGES WITH GOD IN SPIRIT,IN SPIRIT WORLDS OF GOD,NOT OF THIS EARTH?,also,YOU MUST BE "INDIAN",AS THEY REINCARNATE INTO HINDU SOULS?CAN U BE A HINDU?

a. The Taj Mahal is old, hence historic. This temple was built during this decade. b. The Taj Mahal has the added tag of "Monument of Love" which brings the tourists in. Whether it is truly a monument of love is debatable, but it brings in money into the Indian economy via tourism. In this modern day, money means a lot so one can't complain.
