I freaking love you and your work! These videos are tremendous for nail techs. This is realtime learning. It's very generous of you . Not to mention I love to fall asleep to these. I'll watch it over and over and learn somthing new everytime! Thank you, thank you. 💗 xx
ROFL!!! Oh my gosh I'm cracking up. I've had a few people say my voice is soothing, I don't hear it, I totally think I sound weird!! But I'm so glad you find them helpful :)
Loving your videos! I like that you speak from your 15 years experience with Akzentz! Been looking at this line for awhile & decided Akzents will be the future of my biz! Looking forward to your lives!
I always manage to miss the live video! Every time I see you do a set, I think to myself "I want to be like Jess when I grow up", lol... I'm slowly, oh so slowly, growing my Akzentz collection.
@@luvnailz I am, I was just out and about, busy starting the back to school shopping for one of our three college bound kiddos! Fingers crossed I'll catch it next time 😊
I love to watch you work....... My aim is to know the akzents... Options line as well and so I would love if you were to do a video explaining them all cos there's so many hello from Scotland though
There are only two Options builder gels. Options Clear (more flexible) and Options Crystal Clear (harder, can sculpt). The only main difference is the flexibility ;)
Here i am watching this video again on September 14th 2022 because I need my Jess fix and I'm waiting for a new video...hint hint and I've already watched them again, some several times 😀 Question-how's the viscosity between trinity and options crystal clear? Also 4 yrs later from this video and you're still dealing with fuzzies haha. Try light elegance nail wipes-i guarantee they are 100% lint free. The only ones I use. I'll even send you some too try haha.
Hi!. Question, my clients hands are very sweaty because she wears gloves a lot adding the she washes her hands very often, (after each patient) I used affixit and xbond plus enhance, but after a week, nails chipped in the corners, and kind wants to peel off. Do you think I'm using the wrong products after prep, I know I've prepared the nail pretty good.
If you have a client who breaks corners, they need more flexibility. I suggest switching to Trinity (which has the same viscosity as Enhance). And using the Options colors. They are gels in a pot, and are flexible. My clients who break corners have found this has really helped them go a month with no problems.
Hi, thanks for your informative videos! I find them so enjoyable to watch... your voice is soothing! 😂 I'm still searching for a brand I want to stick to. Here in the UK there seem to be a lot of ingredients that cause allergies. is Akzentz hypo-allergenic? Regarding Options soak-off colour gels, have you got a rough idea of how many services (salon nails) you can get from Options potted colour gels? When applied to the natural nail, are options colour gels best applied over a builder such as crystal clear, or do you see equally good results with Affix-it and Opti-bond underneath? I appreciate it's hard to say, because it depends so much on so many different circumstances, but you are well informed and experienced and I trust your opinion! Last question (sorry! 🤣) should Opti-Bond base coat be stirred before application? Thanks so much in advance, I appreciate your time! X
I would put optibond under Options colors on the natural nail but it can take longer to soak off. So it depends if you’d rather it last a month or soak off easier. :). You can put affixit down on the free edge, but again, if you are soaking I don’t recommend it. As far as hypoallergenic... I haven’t heard of many having a reaction to Akzentz but NOTHING can be called hypoallergenic because if you touch something enough you can always develop contact dermatitis. So while I’ve not heard of many with specific reactions to Akzentz, I do know a few techs (using other brands) who can’t do nails without gloves. But I’ve personally had clients who were allergic to other stuff but fine with akzentz :)
Hi, I like this video since I will be starting with gels. I wanted to know if the all the gel pots are 100% Gel, NO solvents/extra ingredients like the polish bottles states on the website ? If not all , please name the ones that are. Thank you
All Akzentz gels and gel polish are 100% gel! If they had solvents I would know, as I import them and the import documents for products with solvents must be considered Dangerous Goods and these products are not :)
I always wipe with nail prep. Typically I mix about 80% Nail Prep with 20% acetone. The acetone is a good dehydrator, plus it’s great for wiping nails at the end of the service if you have been stamping because it removes any extra stamping polish from fingers. :) it’s what I use any time you see me wipe nails.
It does work to sculpt or extend nails. It is designed to be soaked off, so it is made of more expensive materials than classic gel. I would not use it on a regular basis for that reason. But if you really wanted to, you could. That being said, its a very runny gel and you will be doing quite a few layers to build up a proper arch for strength vs a gel that is thicker and designed for sculpting longer nails :)
Rochelle Nilson other brands? No I spent years testing gels and love the viscosity of Akzentz. Never found anything like it. Though I do like Indigo’s cover pink!! I don’t do acrylic unless it’s for competition ;)
What if you can’t for the life of you get the “shadowed” lifted area off all the way? What’s my worst case scenario? Also, I did a fill and I have such a bulky tip smh, but I just did them and I don’t want to file them back down. What’s my best option for when I do them again? I have bulk on the top of the nail and I have bulk under some of the nails where I tried to use an efile to thin but it wasn’t even and I now have a ledge under the nail. Help! Lol
When you go to do a fill, if you still have a bulky tip it means that you did not remove enough product to begin with. You should have just a very thin amount on the nail. Bulk will cause lifting. If you are getting a lot of lifting that will be the most important thing. But if you have lifted parts you will want to file them off. Filling over a part that is lifted will only cause problems next time. It's better to file the whole nail off if you have to than leave lifted product. Sorry! Probably not the easy answer you were going for :)
Real World Nails @ LuvNailz no, this was what I was looking to hear. I guess I didn’t realize that I needed to take almost all of the hard gel down to just a thin layer. I’ll keep that in mind this weekend when I redo them. Is the a specific bit that I can use to de-bulk the underside of the nail when I messed up and created this sort of ledge? Or should I just take the whole nail down? I appreciate your responsiveness!
Naturally_Curious get yourself a nice cone carbide safety bit. They work great for under the nail when your extension that you had sculpted is growing out and maybe your form slipped a little bit and you have a ledge. You can use that nice cone to smooth that ledge out.
Clara Knott with a new set of extensions I will build the free edge to tip with Natural- it’s a harder gel. Then fill in the cuticle area with trinity. I do this because trinity is pretty flexible and the viscosity is so thin that building an extension would take many layers, and I don’t like to work that way.
Hi! Can anyone tell me if this product (options crystal clear) leaves a tacky layer after curing? I was also wondering if this product is suitable for doing pixie crystal nails, are there any other product you would recommend for doing that? Would a simple no-wipe top coat work?
Crystal pixie is best put into thicker gel if you want it to stay put. I suggest doing a coat of Options then putting your pixie into the wet gel. It may work better though in Bling On or Ugly Duckling Schtik it - which are designed to hold crystals.
Because I specifically am asked by many to please show the entire set. These aren’t demos, they are real world nails. There are lots of educators just doing a one nail demo, not a lot do full hands. Just slide the red dot over past the other nails if you don’t want to watch. :)
Clara Knott I do full services because people ask me to constantly. That’s why it’s real world nails. These aren’t one finger demos. You are welcome to Fast forward through as much as you want so you only see 1 finger.
