Also do you realize how traumatic it can be for victims to relive their experiences? Let alone in a court and such a public trial.

If you go to court everything becomes public record, if you have the means to go to court and you don't, instead you settle, it always makes me think there is some validity to the allegations, and you did not want the truth getting out and on public record so you settle
