Every once in a while Al Fadi likes to bring Jay into his studio to interview him on his newest research concerning the historical origins of Islam. He did this again just a few days ago.
Jay went into 3 different areas of research which he was currently working on with other scholars.
The first had to do with some new findings concerning the Qira'at Qur'ans which were first brought to light back in 2016 by Jay's colleague, Hatun Tash.
By 2016 she had discovered 26 different Qira'at readings, as well as Riwayats, of the 30 possible readings of the Qur'an which can be procured in different parts of the Muslim world today. These 26 she brought and showed the world in June of 2016, which began the process of destroying any notion that the Qur'an had been perfectly preserved (As Muslims constantly say: "every word and every letter exactly the same as that which is preserved in heaven and that which was sent down to Muhammad by 632 AD").
New research suggests that there are many more of these different Qira'at Qur'ans; possibly as many as 150 in total, which include the Qira'ats, the Riwayats and the subsequent Tariqs, most of whom were students of students of students, of the initial 10 Qira'at readers.
This new material opens up a flood-gate of new questions concerning why haven't these later derivations of the Qur'an in Arabic been made known to the public at large, and where can we find examples of them today?
After introducing the problems with the Qira'ats, Jay then referred to the comparisons between the early Biblical manuscripts, which include 8,500 Greek Manuscripts, coupled with 10,000 Latin Vulgates, as well as 2,135 early 6th century Lectionaries, and the 86,000 early church father's quotations of the Bible, 36,000 of them which predate any of the earliest manuscripts!
Note that all of these are completely different genres of the Biblical text; in other words they are examples of the Bible in completely different sets of writings, independent of each other, yet they all agree within 99,99 percent of the time.
In comparison we can only find about 6-10 early Qur'anic manuscripts which only begin to appear in the 8th century and continue to be written up to the 10th century, usually only employing a crude un-dotted and un-vowaled consonantal text (i.e. without any of the 5 dots and 3 vowels needed so that Arab readers could read the script).
When we compare the wealth we have of early Biblical manuscripts with the dearth which exists of early Qur'anic manuscripts, we come away wondering why Muslims even bother to claim that what they have in their hands today could have ever come from the Caliph Uthman in 652 AD, or from Muhammad in 632 AD, or even from any "preserved manuscript" which supposedly exists in heaven?
Where is there even ONE of these supposed "perfectly preserved" manuscripts from the 7th century, which includes all 114 Surahs, without "one word or one letter" different from the Hafs an-Assim Qur'an which is considered the standard text used by 93% of the Muslim world toay?
Al Fadi ended this section by noting an article which was written in July 2020 by a Saudi Arabian journalist named Ahmed Hashim entitled "Amending the Qur'an". In this article Hashim admitted that there were around 2,500 mistakes in the current Qur'an which needed to be corrected by scholars in Saudi Arabia.
What an admission by an honest journalist in one of the strictest Islamic societies today, Saudi Arabia.
In the next episode Jay will go into what we know about this name "Muhammad" from the 7th century, and then continue with some new research which confronts the notion that the earliest Islamic Traditional writers created their compilations in the 7th - 9th centuries. This third area will be new material which has never been covered by anyone on the Internet yet, so hold this space!

What makes you think your faith is respectable? Men have always known God as a tool of fiction & nothing fails like prayers in a children's hospital. How is it possibly ethical to suggest the equivalent of a notion we all travel with one foot in a stranger's fantasyland, using fictional vocabulary: prophecy, prayer, etc.? Moses: World's worst navigator leads as if one travels best with one foot in The Garden of Eden. Believers mindlessly suggest it is a good idea for us to suspend our disbelief, granting God made Mormons so Christians would know how Jews feel. Jesus Christ says faith is worthless as a mustard seed when it comes to telling mountains to move with expectations of obedience. The Christian gospels have a joke called the zombie apocalypse and they are played to embarrassment about it now. The gospels have given us the new Jews, but this one gives guidance to eat the body & drink the blood, which is abhorrent, this is what comes of putting the new wine of Christ into an old Jew wineskin. Atwill rests upon great shoulders & now we know the joke. Jesus says, think not I come with peace, but sword, & lists more horrors of The Teacher. What makes you think your faith is respectable?

But in the Old testament God did bless Pharaoh, also Nebuchadnezzar, King Cyrus, and Rahab. According to Christian theology, God has the power to transform unbelievers into born-again Christians. The term "born again" comes from a conversation between Jesus and a man named Nicodemus, as recorded in the New Testament book of John. Jesus said to Nicodemus, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3). Being "born again" refers to a spiritual rebirth or a transformation that takes place when a person receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It is a work of the Holy Spirit in a person's life, bringing about repentance, faith, and a new nature. This transformation is often described as being made a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The Apostle Paul writes, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17). God initiates this transformation by His grace and draws individuals to Himself (John 6:44). Through the work of the Holy Spirit, people can experience conviction of sin, recognize their need for a Savior, and place their faith in Jesus Christ. As a result, they receive forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which begins the process of spiritual growth and transformation. It's important to note that the process of becoming a born-again Christian is deeply personal and varies from person to person. Whether there are 26 different Qur'ans today, or 37, or 150, is actually immaterial. If there are even TWO different Arabic versions of the Qur'an, with variations between them. then the claim of perfect preservation is arrant nonsense. Moreover, when you look at the paucity of ancient Qur'anic manuscripts, many of which lack the dots and vowels to determine what is being said, all of which show marked differences from each other, you have to wonder HOW ANY Muslim EVER came to the conclusion that the Qur'an has been perfectly preserved. I do hope Muslims wake up and smell the coffee. It's always good to hear from you Dr. Jay you explain things so well even those who have issues with reading and written should get what you present. You guys should also look into the practice and symbols and deities of the ancient religions and compare them to Islam, you find lots of practices Islam took on and talk about in the SIN comes from Pre-Islamic practice and stories / status that was giving to other gods and goddesses which made it into the SIN, take the Islamic crescent moon and star, that comes from the most powerful goddess of the Moon Selene she rides a horse and has the crescent moon and star which comes from the Greek and Roman and we know both had their influence in around what we call Gaza and Israel today, they worshipped full moon and new moon like Islam in away, who rode a horse into heaven Muhammad, maybe they got that story from the Philistines or Romans, look who the Canaanites worshiped one of their deity's is about fertilization which gets a mention in the Quran about Allah semen will fertilize the new earth, you must have seen the clip with the guy on the tube holding the umbrella having a joke about it. GBU Brother. What do you think do I have a nugget; I only come across it looking into the name Palestine which the 2 historians in the 5th and 4th BCE used the term for Philistines, I can see now how the 2 got mixed up and why the Roman called the land Palestine's both are the same people. Islam borrowed one to many stories and it has nothing to do with Arabs. Take care.

Actually, I think Al Fadi chose a mighty good word with Apple; just needed to remember to strip the vowels first. Start with PPL and it could be Apple, People, Apply, Appeal, Pupil, Pupal, or Papal. Then consider that double consonants have their own convention in English. Going by pure consonantal sounds that opens up the option of words where a P represents a double P or an L a double L. Then you get Popple, Pipple, Appall, Papally, Papilla, Papillae and Appellee. There may be some others on Merriam-Webster I've missed but that's a fair number to go on for an Indo-European language vs a Semitic one.

About the Eternal Tablet and the 7 AHRUF(saba'at ahruf); As I understand it, the 7 Ahruf (read Sahih al-Bukhari 3219 and Sahih Muslim 819a) are not the same as the 7 Qira'at that were chosen hundreds of years later after the Hijrah. What is important and this is what Dr. Yasir Qadhi said in his interview with Mohammed Hijab that Muslim scholars do not even know exactly what AHRUF means and what exactly the relationship is between 7 ahruf and the Uthmanic codex; Are the 7 seven ahruf included in the Uthmanic Codex, or are a few of the ahruf included or just 1? So there is a lot of uncertainty about the history of the Qur'an in the early days of Islam

QUESTION:- How do we know when the books of the Bible were written? ANSWER:- We have a few basic ways of knowing when the individual books of the Bible were written: a combination of internal and external evidence and, particularly in the Old Testament, traditional accounts. Internal evidence might consist of the style of writing and mentions of people or places who can be more precisely dated. For example, while the book of Ruth is set during the time of the judges, scholars place the literary style as that of the time of the Israelite monarchy-the Kings-based on other writings more accurately dated to that time. The mention of David (Ruth 4:17, 22) also implies a date some time after David’s reign. Another example: the book of Daniel uses a literary style and specific Persian and Greek words that place it around the time of Cyrus the Great (ca. 530 B.C.). Linguistic evidence from the Dead Sea Scrolls gives us authentically dated examples of Hebrew and Aramaic writing from the second and third centuries B.C., when some claim Daniel was written, and it does not match that found in Daniel, which was written in the sixth century B.C. Other internal evidence might be the concerns the author is addressing. For example, the two books of Chronicles tell the history of the Jewish people and how they came under God’s judgment in the form of the exile to Babylon. Traditionally, scholars have believed Ezra to be the author of these books, because the following two books, Ezra and Nehemiah (also written by Ezra), deal with the return from exile and the need to be obedient to God’s law, and they are written in nearly the same literary style. The date of that return, which began under Cyrus the Great, can be correlated to historical records outside the Bible that place his reign from approximately 559 to 530 B.C. The dedication of the new temple in Jerusalem, in 516 B.C., is corroborated by the records of Darius I, and a second return of exiles was allowed under Artaxerxes I, whom we know ruled Babylon from 465 to 424 B.C. All these things help us to closely place the writings of those particular books of the Old Testament. Biblical scholars use similar cross-referencing to date other books of the Old Testament. In the New Testament, books are generally dated by the concerns being addressed, e.g., the growing Gnostic heresy, and how much they quote from other New Testament writings and a cross-referencing of events such as the collection for the needy in Jerusalem discussed in Romans and 1 and 2 Corinthians. We also have historical, extra-biblical accounts such as that by the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus to corroborate events described in the Bible. The Gospels are often dated by something that is not mentioned: Jesus predicted the fall of Jerusalem in Matthew 24:1-2, and we know from historians such as Josephus that the city fell in A.D. 70. It seems logical that if such a prominent prophecy had been fulfilled before the writing of the Gospels that it would have been mentioned, as is the fulfilled prophecy of Christ’s resurrection as found in John 2:19, 22. It’s important to note that even among scholars who believe the Bible to be God’s inspired, inerrant Word there is some disagreement as to the exact dating of the biblical books. A good study Bible such as The NIV Study Bible or a commentary will lay out the various lines of evidence for the dating of the books. God Bless You Amen!

I think Muslims made a mistake in assuming that Mount Zion was the "farthest mosque". Mt Gerizim is actually farther away from Mecca than Mount Zion and was the first place the Israelites performed ceremonies of blessing after entering the Promised Land with Joshua. Jerusalem is actually nothing special, Gerizim is the holiest site on earth. Since it's in the West Bank, Nablus, I guess there won't be much fighting over it after the Al Aqsa mosque is moved there. Time's a wasting, every day that the mosque is in the wrong place is angering Allah more.

Hudhaifa was afraid of their (the people of Sham and Iraq) differences in the recitation of the Qur’an, so he said to `Uthman, “O chief of the Believers! Save this nation before they differ about the Book (Qur’an) as Jews and the Christians did before.” So `Uthman sent a message to Hafsa saying, “Send us the manuscripts of the Qur’an so that we may compile the Qur’anic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you.” Hafsa sent it to `Uthman. `Uthman then ordered Zaid bin Thabit, `Abdullah bin AzZubair, Sa`id bin Al-As and `AbdurRahman bin Harith bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies. `Uthman said to the three Quraishi men, “In case you disagree with Zaid bin Thabit on any point in the Qur’an, then write it in the dialect of Quraish, the Qur’an was revealed in their tongue.” They did so, and when they had written many copies, `Uthman returned the original manuscripts to Hafsa. `Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur’anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt. - Sahih al-Bukhari 4987

What Jay Smith did not take into account, or refuse to take into account, is the fact that the Qur'an is dictated by Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) which he in turn, recited it to his followers. The revealed verses were recited 5 times a day everyday in the prayer. So, the Muslims knew very well the words even if they were being written without vowels. They still would read the words of the verses in their correct and proper readings. How about the Bible in Hebrew? They were not recited everyday. But their vowels were established 300 years after the vowels of the Qur'an were established. And remember Jay Smith, it is the Hebrew Bible that was plagiarized word for word by your Bible scholars, and deceptively labeled it as the Old Testament. So, how many Hebrew words that were distorted? Which one has the authenticity of having correct readings. Of course, it's the Qur'an. -03-11-24

Now if we find known pagan writings and known historical errors in the "Angel Gabriel's" recitation to Mohamed, then either it's not Gabriel rather a Jinn making speaking to Mo or the story has been made up. Jay's point is that the Quran can stand against the same level of textual criticism that the bible has been subjected to. In fact the more you dig the more you find Christianity of some sort hidden in the foundations of what is now Islam. That and Eastern religious influences such as Zoroastrianism

Are you Muslim? Are you not familiar with Allah's policy on dishonesty (as found in the Quran and Hadiths)? Do you mean to suggest Dr Smith is practicing Islam? (You are utterly incorrect).

Don't just throw out statements like that, so present proof as to how he is dishonest. He speaks using facts, you do not so you have no credibility.

Please check As -Suyuyat page 88:"Umar ibn Khattab narrated Q had 1 027 000 letters". Then over 70% was lost. Al-Qafi:"2/3 of Q was lost". Yet Al-Lah in Q confirms 7th century Bible, its continouous authority and preservation. Nowhere does he say opposite. Yet prophet of Al-Lah confirmed the Bible between his hands in 7th century. Yet all Bible scolars secular atheists like dr. Bart Ehrman, or believers agree that christians do have the 7th century Bible intact today.😌😌😌👍👍👍

Without argument; sounds just like a remark. Typical Islam.

Yeah, whatever Muslim clown claims that the Qur'an has been perfectly preserved is definitely dishonest. A world-class liar, in fact.

You should first of prove that you are a true follower of Jesus by hosting some serpents and show are not harmed by them. Otherwise, I have to assume that you are liars.. Kiraat does not change the meaning of the text. You are a liar.

You are deceiving yourself. Qira'at does change the meaning and the practice and the religion. For example how many poor people do you have to feed if you can't fast in the day for Ramadan depends on the reading you use. But I am glad that you have already understood that the actual words are changed, even if they have a similar meaning. You have already abandoned the standard Islamic fiction.

@@oprophetisfake9482 That is precisely why there are different permissible Kiraats. It would not make a difference to someone who is educated and well versed in Arabic, but 90% of Muslims are not, and they are not familiar with the intricacies of the language but they read the text, memorize it etc. These Kiraat rules are designed to help them. As Islam spreads into new cultures with different cultures, they may fall back on their native vocalizations which may change the meaning. So new rules come into picture to help them to recite the correct way. You guys know this. But still push it. That is very dishonest.

@@almazchati4178 So you actually have hundreds of DIFFERENT Qur'ans and your leaders are pretending that the very latest version, the one that didn't exist before 1924 Cairo is the original? It seems that Islam stays the same by changing and changing ever more rapidly. Only the intellectually deficient or dishonest can continue with such a scam. And now who is helping with the scam across the whole world? The godless Marxists - except they have made a god out of Marx like Islam has made gods of Muhammad and other leaders. The spirit of both communism and islamism is antichrist. You are not for the true God, but you accept the counterfeits that come in their own names.

When we recognize the Eastern Orthodox Church which had its origins in Antioch Jerusalem and Edessa are the true original and authentic church. Why do you promote white versions of Christianity.

Belief in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is enough. The differences are in cultural barriers only.

You’re so foolish you fail to realize Christianity spread throughout Middle East and Africa way before it came tk the west and the Bible I read the KJV is most accurate to the Dead Sea Scrolls that were found.. It’s called God preserved his word as he said he would.

Because Muslims spend half of their time distorting other religions and belief they brainwashed to stand against, this is just logical looking into their narrative holes
