Al Green came to Alabama in my hometown to do a concert years ago. Everybody was waiting on Al Green to do his show. It was in a coliseum smaller what he used to and my folks said Al Green said" This ain't enough money 💰 for me" and cancelled the show. Everybody was disappointed.

Mary Woodson had snuck into a Cab with Green & he had allowed her to come to his Estate. When Green attempted to check on Mary Woodson, he discovered she was in the Kitchen boiling Water, he asked her why and she sheepishly replied "IDK. But I would never hurt you, handsome". Green exclaimed "Wait, What?" He was confused and trying to figure out what was she thinking or planning. He then decided to go to his Master Bedroom and get Groomed and Shower, while he's in his Underwear brushing his teeth, she followed him and he saw her reflection in the Bathroom Mirror, she had a blank look on her face and was holding a pot of Grits and Boiling Water with both hands & without saying a word, she just hoisted it at him. He was in so much shock and agony, that Carlotta came running in from the other Guest Bedroom, a moment after that, they heard 2 loud bangs, Green suspected that Mary had taken her own life and her body was found in a side Room laying on the floor.

Me either. I was 13 years old and in love. And when she poured hot grits on him she might as well have thrown them one too. I was soooo hurt. My heart hurt for him and for me. It broke us up, because then I found out Al was cheating on me. It took a toll on our relationship for a minute. But just a minute. We worked it out. He said let's stay together, so we did. And to this day I don't find nothing funny at all about the grits incident. Luv you Al, always will .
