I always feel like people that don't say 2018 LeBron just don't actually remember that playoff run and we're watching it that close. 5 of 6 in shots to tie or take the lead in ONE PLAYOFF RUN, with two buzzer beats. 45 Points in Game 7 against Boston. Most points ever heading into the Finals. PER higher than any MJ run ever. Most 40 pointers in a playoff run. 42-11-8 in elimation games. 51-8-8 in Game 1 of the Finals and almost beat the greatest team of all time with a mediocre team. I am an MJ over LeBron guy, because of LeBron's terrible leadership, and his choke against the Mavs in 2011, mostly, but 2018 LeBron is the best player of all time for a single season.

That Cavs team was not that bad and he didn’t “drag” them. Kyle Korver is one of the all time great shooters, they had Kevin Love, they had Wade, Isaiah Thomas, and Derrick Rose at one point, got back Rodney Hood and George Hill too, JR Smith was PRAISED in 2015 for his shot making in the absence of Kyrie and Kevin, etc. They still had Tristan Thompson playing at a very high level. Bron said “we got a squad now” and they were definitely the best team in the East since Kyrie was injured and Giannis hadn’t arrived in the league yet. They traded away a superstar and we’re heavily compensated, that team wasn’t bad. A bad team that made the finals is the 2001 Philadelphia 76ers. Do some research, that 2018 LeBron was getting all the favorable calls in those series and barely beat the Pacers and Baby Celtics in 7 games. That’s the best you’ve seen? One of my favorite players since being a main cog in the Gators' twin championships. Lifts the level of every team he's on, far more than most players, and definitely more than most fans would even recognize. Would have loved to have seen him with the Warriors during their last few big man-poor years. A mobile big guy would have fit right in and would shore up a lot of their weaknesses.

I remember watching that Game 7 and the Q on the Jumbotron with a full crowd and watching the last few minutes was some of my favorite times as a Cavs fan. My heart was racing through that whole game, but the Cavs players were making all of their shots and LeBron straight up took over and once he got that and-one and beat his chest to the Celtic crowd. I knew I was witnessing one of the best, all-time playoff performances ever. Also it made it so much better it was against the Celtics because of Kyrie leaving us. I know he didn’t play, but that angered all of us. I also remember when Jayson Tatum dunked on LeBron, the whole crowd at the Q was all in unison going “OOO” haha, but luckily we got the upper hand and then got destroyed by the Warriors lol.

The thing people don't realize with Lebron is that going to 8 straight finals is showing the wear and tear on him because he's nearing 40, but that also conditioned him from 2010 to 2018 to have absurd cardio and conditioning. He was used to playing those heavy minutes from the first second of the game to the last second. If you add his total playoff time up he played like an additional 3 or 4 seasons worth of basketball. That's why when people discuss the GOAT debate to me I always say Jordan had a better peak, but Lebron is the best player of all time in my opinion. To be a 38 year old man and averaging 30 a game is not normal with the mileage he has on his body.

His fitness is such a big factor, especially with his physical prowess and instincts combined. To be so in shape that you can see in for 48 straight minutes and still not be gassed is another super power entirely.. The reason I was as good as I was in high school as a PG/SG at 5’9 was because I trained my body to the point that I almost could not get gassed. That in itself helps you stay on the court and put more effort into the game.

This is LeBron’s Killer Instinct! People get caught up in MJ and Kobe trying to outscore and embarrass their opponents. LeBron is heady, he manipulates defenses and is a coaching staffs nightmare. He’s out smarting teams and is more prepared mentally and physically. That’s killer also. It just looks different when you play team basketball.
@gregoryharlston0602
@gregoryharlston0602 Год назад
Yeah but MJ was mentally outthinking his opponents too. Ask John Stockton, the all-time assist and steals leader. Two Finals in a row, MJ out IQed Stockton. MJ knew Stockton like to cheat off of his man to double team MJ. So, during a timeout, MJ told Steve Kerr, who Stockton was guarding, to be ready for an open jumper! And as MJ predicted, Stockton left Kerr wide open, MJ passed it to Kerr, who swished it and the Bulls beat Jazz. In the next year's final, MJ lurked in lane while Stockton was too eager to get the ball to Karl Malone. Karl never knew MJ was behind him but Stockton should have! MJ strips Karl and goes down and hits the winning bucket. Stockton and Jazz were out IQed again! When MJ came into the league, he was outjumping everybody. When he left the league, he was outthinking everybody! Lebron is one of the greatest basketball players I've ever seen but MJ was the greatest!

@@gregoryharlston0602 I saw it live so I get it brotha. MJ is my other GOAT for a reason. I’m just saying that LeBron came in to the league with that mindset. Its me of Sun Tzu’s quote: “All warfare is based on deception… Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak”. Those two greats in their professions were so great for so long that even when they appeared weak (due to being at the latter end of their career), they still were as strong as it got relative to their competitors. 2018 is the last "quintessential" LeBron season. It was his only season he played every game, heled the league in minutes played and minutes-per game, and of course he carried the Cavs to the Finals after Kyrie's mutiny and the failure to replace him with an impact player. Ever since then, we've had "load-managed" LeBron, a guy who's great (offensively) when he actually plays but sits large stretches of the season for rest and injuries. I honestly feel like the 2018 season shaved years off his career, which is somewhat amazing considering he's still going strong at his age.
