Miss this man's voice so much. A true Artist. As far as contermoray Jazz singers he was my absolute favorite. From the moment I heard Brite N Sunny Babe I was in love. When I hear it, it takes me back to warm summer days an short shorts - feeling young and free☺ RIP AJ.

Back in the 80's the local HiFi shop was hosting the Rockford Fosgate Van all loaded up with their latest mobile stereo gear and killer speakers in customized enclosures. They were playing the Al Jarreau LIVE IN PARIS tape at way high levels in the parking lot. My introduction to Al Jarreau. Been a fan ever since!

..The only thing I never liked about the late great Al Jarreau was that he scatted too much. he wouldn't let the band shine during the instrumental parts of the songs because he just kept singing or scatting nonstop. What a shame because he recorded stuff without all that constant mouth noises that sound so beautifl. But, he probably just got nervous performing live and had to be constantly talking or scatting into the mic.
