I just lost the love of my life ( husband) on February 7, 2024. We had a love we could not explain. I have always loved this song and now that he's gone, I now know that I never will be able to or have to explain our love. The boundaries were deep and the love was Real. I dont believe I will ever love this way again.
"Do the Right Thing" needs to be shown more and everyone should watch it. It applies to everything going on in this world, the hatred, the prejudice, the anger. I had seen the movie YEARS ago but last week it really had an impact on me. When the credits played, I loved this song. Peace!
25th Hour and Inside Man - 2 of my favorites from the brilliant Spike. 25th Hour tells us all a great story about life and people - A must watch for anyone !!!
The ending.....at my funeral just play that and it will sum up all my life in those few seconds....it tells a story without words and just shows beauty......music like this is what keeps me going
Happy 30th Anniversary "Do The Right Thing" We remember Mr. Ossie Davis and Mrs. Ruby Dee, Bill Nunn, Frank Vincent and the amazing Al Jarreau ! Thank you.
I saw Al doing a promotion in his early career as a singer at a music store in Greenwich village in the late 70's, I have love his music and his voice and range on this song. Cathy Block did some exquisite writing on this piece. This song with it's orchestration combined with Al's singing brings me to a point where you feel every movement of the strings. It takes you to a place of tranquility "I was looking thru the window of my life today, and for the first time I saw things in a different way in the middle of mind it was there all the time...Never Explain Love" simply wonderful.
Orchestration, Strings, an Al Jarreau it does not get any better than this. Wonderfully done & lyrics that captivate the heart, soul & mind. Ending Beautifully. Let it play over & over ... Peace to ya
Listening to all the tracks on Spike's Do The Right Thing this morning including this nugget by the wonderful, late (R.I.P. ) by Al Jareau - and starting the weekend right.
I love this music ♥ This music is so sensually pure love & romantic! I first heard this song on the ending of the 1989 movie "Do the Right Thing" and ever since I have fall passionately in love with this music ♥ I love listening to this music during sunset & sunrise, absolutely "Beautiful," ♥ Thank You so much for posting this music ♥
I watching do the right thing last night and i heard this song for the first time at the end and i fell in love with this song. The end of this song made me feel some kinda way. Adding to mp3
I did'nt realize until recently how this song incorperates the film's score as done by Spikes father Bill Lee. I really need to get the score from DTRT.
I have come back to this gem & it has become a stable in my listings. I went to school with Tony Aiello, Tony played the police officer with the blond hair who chokes Raheem in the movie "Do the Right Thing". Funny how things turn out he was in my spanish class & played on the high school football team & then years past he is in the Spike Movies (also the cop in "Jungle Fever"). Life is funny that way. Peace to ya and of course... Thank you posting this.
Risa Elizabeth Uhl, I love you so damn much 💗 We met one another at a time in our lives when we needed to and 12 years later, we are stronger than ever. You are the best thing that has EVER happened to me. You inspire me to be a better man and you have my back; no matter what. You are a gift from the LORD above and I treasure you. Again, I love you with all that I am 💗
