I LOVED it, I just have a thing for rulers who aren't just efficient, but who make an efficient system that outlasts them. (Umar, Muawyah, Abdelrahman I and III, Suleiman), I hate the hero figures who make a system that revolves around their person and that will collapse with their death. Almanzor, the most controversial and fascinating man in the history of Al-Andalus, Unfortunately, he made 4 mistakes: - He broke the ethnic harmony of Al-Andalus by importing many Berber tribes from North Africa, - He demilitarized the population in favor of a professional army composed of Berber (but also Christian) mercenaries with no ties to al-Andalus, - His repeated expeditions to the North without definitive conquest of the territories (unthinkable at the time of the first conquerors) and the multiple humiliations (sacking of St-Jacques de Compostelle) had as a consequence to give birth to a generation of Christians more warlike and hardened by the trials, - The usurpation of power is without doubt the most serious act, In spite of everything, it allowed Al-Andalus to hold on after the death of Al-Hakam II from 976 to 1002 but I still can't understand why with the means available to the Caliphate it did not carry out the conquest of the Christian kingdoms as it did at the time of Tariq ibn Ziyad and Musa ibn Nusayr. What happened with "Banu Talib", was that Al-Mansur was on a pilgrimage to Meccah and when he arrived All Hashim welcomed him except for the descendants of Banu Talib who were also in multiple marriage relationships with the descendants of Omar and Uthamn. He wanted so bad to know what they were up to without alerting them that he basically changed the ruler of Meccah at least twice because they failed to bring him satisfactory news. In the end, he captured their men and forced the rest to move close to him in Iraq/Wasit so he can monitor them, except for 2 (Muhammad ibn Abdullah and Ibrahim ibn Abdullah) who escaped and hid until their eventual return. - Source (Al-Dawla Al-Abbassiya by Muhammed Khudri Bek). Edit: The funny thing is that a similar occurrence happened during the reign of Haroon Al-Rasheed which led to the establishment of the Idrisi Emirate in western north Africa.

I am an Alid as well and I can confirm the fact that Abbasids commited horrendous slaughter of the Alids. I have heard stories from my elders that the blood of the Alids was used in building the walls of the city of Baghdad. This is the reason why alot of descendants of the Prophet Muhammed's family migrated east to the regions of Afghanistan, Turkistan and Indian Subcontinent.

Your videos are good, just try to make it compatible with history timeline ( I didn't know how to say it in English but I'll gave an example ) for example speak about the prophet Mohammed and his conquests and unification of Arabia, then talk about the rashidium caliphate and their conquests and issues... then talk about the umayyads.... and so on according to the history timeline

I have a question about your pronunciation of caliph, is that related to how it would be pronounced in your native language? In Arabic, if I’m not mistaken, it would be /xali:f(a)/, with the fricative instead of a stop and a long i in the middle. If that’s just how you pronounce the English rendition of it, that certainly makes sense, but it’s a bit different so I’m curious if there’s a connection to its proper pronunciation in a third language.

Historians are unfair to the Alids. They are the true founders of Islamic civilization. They have always been there to challenge the establishment in the early age of Islamic politics and they succeeded in shaping the history of Islam at the cultural level. The alids helped establishing the seeds for the islamic golden age. For example Al baqir, one of the Alids was a known scientist, theologian, physician and chemist. one of his students was Jabir Ibn Hayyan the great scholar celebrated today. Fun story: some muslim rulers tried to outlaw chemistry because of that. that's how much they were hated by the establishment. Not to mention that all the current islamic jurisprudence and school of thoughts trace back to them one way or another.

I’m an Abbasid, I never heard about the story of Jamra even from the Alawites themselves. All i know that Al Mansour has imprisoned the great grandchildren of Al Hassan Ibn Ali not All the Alawites. In fact, Al-Mansur always considered that Al Hussain's descendants better than Muhammad al-Nafs al-Zakeya, and all his relatives who are descendants of al-Hassan. According to the letters that were between Al-Mansour and Muhammad Al-Nafs Al-Zakia after Muhammed announced his revolution against Al Mansour. But of course, that doesn’t mean he didn’t keep an eye on all of the Alawites and all the rest of the Umayyads.

Not only founded Baghdad in the north side of the Sassanian empire capitol Ctesiphon in 762 but Mecca was founded by him also, in 741. Al Mansur was not a caliph(they just to call themselves "commanders of the faithfull" they were Nestorian Christians, not Muslims), the first one that called him self caliph was Al Ma'mun in 810.

Did you know that there was a sect called (kissaniyya) that whorshipped al mansur (and his brother and fathers) as the personification of God in earth, and they were a step stone to the success of abassid daawah, but when al mansur took the throne, he get rid of them, cause he didn't need them anymore, plus they began to manifest their faith publicly and that goes against his plans to reconceal with the sunnis who are the main sect of slam in his khilafah
