Met him the other day and told him that he was the reason I became an actor, otherwise it was a life of illegality for me in south London and thank you. He was so choked up, we both were almost in tears. Pure legend you are Al Xx
It's a joke. He got screwed for Godfather II, Serpico, and Dog Day and a case can be made for And Justice for All. He should've at least got one out of these, to make it two. At least.
Just proves that award shows are all just business and politics. Many of the greats have won very little to none, and it's telling. Just depends on who has the most mates in the industry, but I guess people like Al Pacino just care more about their work than fame and glory.
it is a crime that Al Pacino only has one Oscar. His role in the Godfather II, Scarface alone should've earned him Oscars. This man literally is the greatest actor of all time
Who cares about his Oscar tally, you ask most people and they'll tell you Al Pacino's catalogue of movie performances are stronger than a lot of people that have won 2 or more oscars over their career. It's much tougher to dish out consistent good acting performances over decades than it is to win multiple Oscars in a 40+ year career where you can go 10 years of trash performances but because you've had a long career you can have 2 Oscar worthy performances over 2 decades thus winning 2 oscars.
@@Muskateering i seriously doubt this movie would be as acclaimed without Marlon. Ask anybody and they'd think about him, not about Michael, which it's still a good character
I love Al, such a down to earth/funny guy. I can listen to him for hours, and all of his stories. Hes such a handsome/sexy man, looks great for his age. Looks way younger than 78 there
"You've always been set-apart and set-aside Mr Pacino. In The Scent of a Woman you harnessed a passion that would make the real Colonel Slade speechless. You've been a blessing to so many people, a leader to the same, and as an actor you can understand the exceptionalism in that. But one of your caliber sets you above, and the effect you've had one millions will never, ever die. With many more notable roles to speak on for days..the most notable one is that of yourself. Your own. So thank you and that thank you will be here forever as well." -D.A.
damn alcohol. in bobby deerfield 1977 his face looked very young, 2 years later in the movie ... and justice for all his face is extremely aged .... stay away from alcohol
@@cockoffgewgle4993 in bobby deerfield 1977 he looks like michael corleone AND in.....and justice for all 1979 his face looks like tony montana....Alcohol and cigarettes have made him age extremely in the 2 years and that was his extreme alcohol phase ....
@@travisbickle5279 What aged him most was sun. He tanned up for Scarface and never stopped. He had lovely pale skin. Sun is the #1 ager. Aside from, yknow, ageing.
