A review of Yorkville's NEW Elite series EF-12P active speaker. This powerful active speaker features a 3'' compression driver for ultra clear vocals and a high power woofer with 3'' voice coil that hits all the way down to 47hz. Multiband limiting keeps everything sounding great at all volumes. Although best for live sound (in my opinion) and even better when combined with subwoofers, the EF12P can provide excellent full range reproduction by itself for small to medium sized venues and can also be used in DJ systems - especially in bigger venues when combined with subs. The different DSP settings (modes) should have been better EQ'd to take full advantage of the quality transducers (the Club mode in particular is very poor sonically IMO) AND Bluetooth streaming of music would have been a nice addition. The 60lb weight is a negative, but the overall quality of the baltic birch box and durable coating, not to mention top shelf transducers make up for this. As always, a 2 year no fault warranty is included and the speakers are Canadian designed and manufactured as well.
