I'm sitting here and I have to say how proud all of you make me. It probably makes no sense that a 63 year old woman would be so proud of people I don't know.. I am. I never had the chance to finish college. I started work at 19 or so and had to keep it moving. I missed out on so much that makes us who we are. Proud Strong...I lost so much of this that all of you will carry for the rest of your lives, through to your children a strong Heritage of us! I wasn't able to have children so it's me and my husband. Go on! Go on! Go on! Brought tears of happiness and pride to my eyes and heart! Thank you
I think that you and I must be related! I feel exactly the SAME way that you feel even down to being "proud" of people that I don't even know! I think that you and I maybe just respect the kraft because it's definitely not as easy as some may think that it is! I only said that we're related because if we had been the same age, I would have sworn that we were twins! 😊
GB is right. It's never too late. I sent three young people of my own to college. I went to college at same time my youngest started. I was 47. I met men and women in their 60s and 70s. If you want it do it.
My son was in band in high school and college and the discipline and commitment involved is intense. Great respect and admiration for all these students
The Drum Majors were working their magic, and the camera was showing me the young ladies who were only strutting and sashaying. I love the work of the drum majors. Sorry I missed most of their show.
These guys killed it. I get chills every time I watch them come out of the tunnel marching. A force to be reckoned with. Good shit A&M. I took drum(set) lessons from an incredible drum teacher who, appropriately, was on A&M’s drum core in college. When I first started lessons it was not what I expected. I soon learned his vision for molding a drummer was methodically and meticulously developing a level of technique and perfection I didn’t know could exist. Oh and attitude. The first lesson he told me the difference between an average drummer and a good drummer playing the same groove is the attitude. Markus Pope, greatest percussion teacher in Huntsville and probably Alabama haha.
I have to ask, only because I don’t know. I’ve watched plenty of these band videos, how come HBCU bands have so many people always walking in front of them, cutting between the lines and from what it seems in the way? Let them do their thing and get out of the way
@BDE Handicapping You stated just what I was thinking! Seems like there should ONLY be elected videographers/camera crews positioned to film these bands. It was, to me, too many people in the way with their camera phones. This band is outstanding!
I am a 65 year old white grandma and greatly enjoy watching these HBCU bands. It is obvious these band member's skills were developed over many years long before they entered college. And IMO, just their athletic abilities rival the athletes they support on the playing field. Just curious, are these band members recruited by these colleges while still in HS and are they awarded scholarships like some sports athletes are ?
Was a majorette also but my director would have never allowed us to be objectives like that he had daughters and mama would have snatched me out of that line .I am thankful that they cared!
Drum majors ah BEAST ,, the Horns definitely was blowing !!! They can't do nothing with the Jackson 5 !!! U have to compare the 2 being into music and Marching !!! Overall they did Good 💯
My first comment wasn't recorded but..here goes...a lot of those people are affiliated with the band and should know better...especially them knowing the band is being professionally filmed...like sister gurl carrying coats, purses, etc. I believe she believes this is her moment as well...
I have had and still do family members who have been a part of HBCU bands and I'm going to say that if people don't get out of the way of these bands, they are in for a rude awakening, they will stomp you, they will not stop, so you better just move out of their way.
I'm still waiting on that A&M and ASU joint performance or something like it. Yea it will need a lot of organization and coordination but who said it can't be done.
@@bunnyman6321 A better look than lead dude int he center all up in the one girl's ass to the right of him. At least the last guy was being respectful of the girl that was in front of him.
Those majorettes are beautifully dressed, but where is their security on both sides walking with them? This is a no no in the Sip. No security no dancers.
@@georgiabrown9458 Maybe back in the seventies and sixties. In the 21st century and since the 20th century, at minimum many majorettes do not twirl batons. If your region does then its regional. In the Dirty South, not all of our majorettes twirl.
Frfr the entire band was a No No it’s dull no one into it and the dancer’s are definitely No No none of it is entertaining!! Naaah hard pass I can go to sleep in the stands
