All of your episodes have been great. Clint Eastwood filmed High Plains Drifter at Mono Lake. Took a motorcycle trip here, and Death Valley in early May 2023, before temps climbed. All of the passes were still closed for snow. Now 2 months later temps along Hy 395 are 90-100 degrees. Watching temps for a chance to return and explore.
The Alabama Hills also has lots of small granite arches. In October 2020, I shot Mt. Whitney before, during, and after sunrise through Mobius Arch, including getting a full moon setting over the Sierra. The evening before, I shot Boot Arch and stars. I have only visited twice and spent less than three days total exploring. I need to get back there and spend more time.
I love how some of these make me get out my atlas and trace your travels, but I have to admit even though I know you are based in California the title at first had me expecting to see scenes of northern Alabama, the state. 😄 We once came down to Yosemite via 395 from Nevada on one of our road trips, so at the end I knew exactly where you were and we have seen Mt. Whitney from the other side which made this episode quite interesting. Keep producing great shows and I will keep watching.
I tell friends that I’m headed to the Alabama hills and they almost alway say they’ve never heard of it. My response is always that they’ve seen it, just didn’t realize it.
