I was just studying about the gifts we give to the Lord and how Mary gave a YEARS salary to Jesus, how she gave him the very best perfume imported from India. How a woman's hair was her glory at that time. How in humility Mary offered Jesus her humility and gave him the very best. If only I could fulfill this in my life. My Alabaster Box is my life. Not worth much but I offer it anyway.
The entire production number of "Alabaster Box" was wonderful, such an obvious anointing spirit! Kathy Taylor is something very special. Her gift of being a conduit of the Holy Spirit is something rarely seen today. Her talent transcends just vocal ability; it's really not so much about her voice at all. Its the completely apparent anointing that permeates her entire performance! So amazing! What a truly gifted woman of God!
How many tears did she have to shed to thoroughly clean his feet? Not saying that i could never do that. But what a grand gesture that was and still is. Now a days our loved ones cannot even touch our weave (let alone our real hair) and yet she washed his foot... with her hair. I am beyond words at her humility, and it makes me want to know more about the typical mannerisms of that time .
Ok, I know she didn't actually wash his foot with her hair in the play. But the visuals I get with that mean (as in good ) weave job strikes a cord with my soul. I know how we are about our hair and to even envision wiping our weave (not even our real hair) on some dirty feet would have us shrieking in horror. So i would had to ask , and marvel at the critical emotional state in which that woman (not the actor but the woman in the bible) was in. her pride had to absolutely be shattered, also
Hi Staci, I'm the woman at Jesus' feet in this video and I did indeed wash his feet with my hair. Over the years, the scene has evolved and we use real oil and water....still washing his feet with my hair. The woman in the bible who I am portraying speaks to my life's testimony... so to be able to actually minister this......talk about breakthroughs! I'm never the same each time we do it. To Him Be ALL Glory! May God continue to bless you real good!
I wouldn't know if they still had the tapes, but Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston Tx is where this was filmed...the Friday before resurrection Sunday is usually when they had this play
