Let’s not forget about Val Bettin, Jonathan Brandis, James Avery and Ed Gilbert (the voices of the Sultan of Agrabah, Mozenrath, Haroud Hazi Bin and Fasir). Those gentlemen passed away as well.
It’s nice that the show expanded on so much from the movie. It developed Aladdin and Jasmine’s relationship and the ups and downs of being a couple as they headed towards marriage. Iago and Genie both got love interests. The relationships between the main cast were expanded like Abu, Genie and Iago being like siblings. Even Carpet's lore was expanded so we learned how his flying ability works. The adventures were interesting and the villains were fun with Abis Mal (voice by Jason Alexander), Mirage, Mozenrath, Mechanicles etc. This was cartoon TV done right even without Robin Williams.
I forget which part it was or maybe it’s my inner fangirl but… Honestly, it’s adorable whenever Gilbert had that sweet side to Lago, what I mean is, whenever his voice is kinda high pitched and normal without the raspe as him is adorable, it makes Lago so cute! It’s unfortunate there was no character he could of voiced with that type of voice, yes his iconic raspiness makes him and his characters who he is, but this rare side to him as Lago was adorable and should of used that type of voice way more often! Examples “I taught him everything he knows!” (I forget which part that was time stamp? ) That one part when he gives zero craps to save Aladdin (where basically Gilbert’s voice is completely different I don’t know if the voice direction was all weird back then, but it’s funny. XD ) 22:20 It’s not shown here but there’s one part of the whole scene when Lago takes form of Gilbert (and I forget exactly what he says), but one of the lines he says in it, he pulls a French Accent (or Italian)? And OMG, that part was super adorable to me! Like aaah! My heart! 😊 “The ole Lago Charm!” That ENTIRE scene again is just aaah! My heart! He sounded so cute in this scene, until of course Genie kinda ruined the moment asking Lago if he dated the raincloud and not the rain bird. XD 21:17 Bonus! 3:54, 0:00, 15:53, 16:44 It’s probably my inner Gilbert fangirlness, and before anyone says it YES, he was cute when he was younger and YES, I know I might sound weird! Or is there any other fangirls out there of him besides me?
The "Aladdin" movie series was my first introduction to the late yet legendary Mr. Gottfried! I used to think he was just doing that wacky voice for the filming purposes lol, but it was actually his own! Oh the nostalgia this show brings! God bless that man, CW20, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and Disney for being the only companies to have classic animated productions like this!
You really missed an opportunity in Sandswitch, as I love Iago's interaction with Rajah. I love the part when Abu just stuffs Iago into Rajah's mouth to make him cooperate.
16:19 The way Genie flew past Abis Mal and Haroud which made them lost their clothes except their underwears was my favorite part of the episode Egg-Stra protection. 😁
Gilbert Gottfried will be truly missed, Iago is in Heaven with the Genie aka Robin Williams and Gilbert Gottfried are bet talking to each other up in the Sky together.
Then maybe it's about time Aladdin the animated Series is released onto complete DVD collection just like the original The Proud Family Series to honour the memories of Gilbert Gottfried who was the voice of Iago.
Why are you still calling these "Iago moments" when half of these clips aren't even about Iago? And why in the world would you cut away from the Gilbert Gottfried cameo at 19:28 when it's the funniest moment in the entire series?
One of the things I didn't like about the remake of Aladdin (I know everyone has their own opinions on it so please don’t tear me to shreds) is that Iago is reduced to just parroting things back like a normal bird. I guess it was to make Jafar more realistic as a villain with no comic relief by his side, but still. I would have been happy with Godfrey coming back to voice a CG parrot. Even though Genie was the comic relief in the animated movie, Iago still stood out as a character.
They did that cause they were trying to make Iago more realistic in there since it's a live-action movie with real people, so they just wanted to make him like a real parrot instead. Some things like a cartoon talking parrot wouldn't really work that well in a live-action movie with real people when all the other animals don't talk in their world, which I can understand. At least that's what I would think the reason would be? Even though Iago talks in the animated version, but it's a cartoon so they could get away with it. Lol I guess they thought it wouldn't fit in with the rest of the realistic world of the live-action movie though. And they did the same with Abu. But the cartoon Iago is definitely better though, he's hilarious. And is another reason why I still like the animated Aladdin the best, even though I still liked the remake.
But that was hilarious when one of the guards said: "He's got a sword!", then Razoul said angrily: "You idiots! We've all got swords!" and Abu smiles and put the sword down before he runs off. 😂
Some of this content felt like it focused more on Genie instead of Iago; some of it included him but in a secondary sense while other content was explicitly Genie with Iago nowhere in sight
What episode is this from Aladdin when the flying cat creature changed Iago head? This is too much and hilarious in a great way lololol. I missed Gilbert Gottfried he was the best as Iago. At least Iago doesn't have to deal with Polly want a cracker anymore lololol
6min 55sec in this and apparently Disney incorporated drugs didn’t notice until now used to watch it as a kid wow before the good sand is taken before 😮😮😮😢😢
17:59 How did this make it to broadcast? Oh, wait. The world was a different place back then, and people weren’t sensitive to something that adults would get.
