So awesome! I was just asking you about the lottery on Periscope last week, I'll definitely go give it a try if it's still on in November! Also want to get day seats for The Lion King, one can never see too many musicals.
Loved this show when I saw it back in July I agree with u on the Panto bit I found Jafar very panto but the guy playing him was brill. But apart from that the show was brilliant especially Trevor who was the Genie :)
i sort of had to agree when i went but don't be disappointined I only had 3 of the best understudies i have seen so far who were Leon Craig for the Ginnie,Daniel De Bourg for Kassim and Jermaine woods for Iago enjoyed it got to spend some time with my cast as well
What date did you go as Dean (Aladdin) was out of the show for a week due to a hamstring injury, lots of people were saying the understudy was a weak singer so it might have been him you saw. I agree that Jade is bad for the role! when we went she messed up her lines on 'a whole new world'!!! the genie makes the show and 'A friend like me' is a show stopper! I'm hoping to go back and take my 5 year old daughter as she will think the 'world new world' scene is magic :)
I saw one of the first previews in June, I loved it but was upset with the last scene as i felt it was a bit rushed. Anyway, are you planning to see harry potter and the cursed child?
I really enjoyed the show. I agree about Jade though, she was OK but as you say, i didn't find her convincing. Her voice was weaker than it was in In The Heights. I really liked Dean John Wilson as Aladdin. Apart from the genie one of the highlights for me was the 3 friends and their big number High Adventure. With A Whole New World......i also was underwhelmed. It could just be me but i found the scene to be completely rushed? It seemed to be abnormally fast and that's why i was underwhelmed. But i did like then show overall ad am glad you and Ellie enjoyed it to. That lottery worker was right as well, it's great to see people actually excited to get tickets!
actually if you have Leon Craig you wont be let down Leon and Trevor do it a bit different but good Leon got a standing ovation even for his role as gennie
