And like Bellingham, they create an air of intimidation and a bulling atmosphere to the football team. I personally found those characters rather unpleasant to play football with. They are aggressive, angry, selfish, flash, and blame everybody else's for the defeat. I'm sure those Manchester United players who played with Roy Keane would have experienced similar behaviour from Roy Keane, who we all know was a bully boy and a point the finger at everyone else but himself. I am not surprised because there seems to be a lack of chemistry between a number of players and awareness of each other on the pitch and not being able to work around it. And so many of our players are not willing to move the ball forward and move in to space and give each other an option.

One thing I noticed was when tripper got taken out with a very bad tackle not one England player reacted. If it was italy or Spain or anyone they would have been all over the ref and the culprit screaming for a red or at least sticking up for each other. I found that odd. We never get involved in gamesmanship . They dont seem to be a unit.

Think the team miss players that are the glue to a team like Henderson and jack, not saying they need to play but behind the scenes jack is a people person and he just is a plus with his attitude and involvement same as Henderson. Saka: For being doubled up on because opponents recognise there is no threat from England down their left. Trent: For being expected to spray killer diagonal passes to a front four that are sitting deep. I have been thinking this for a while about this England team under Southgate. Their performances have been dire for a good few years.

It's 'Journalism' like this that creates this negative atmosphere. Have we been our best? No but we've got results. We look poor because we don't create many chances but for possession (3rd best in the tournament), Passing accuracy (4th best), Clean sheets (joint 3rd). A reminder that Denmark held their own against Germany and if VAR hadn't ruled out their opener it would have been different, Slovenia took Portugal to penalties, Slovakia beat Belgium. These games are tough regardless who you are. The negativity comes from our goals, attempts and shots on target, we're the lowest still remaining in the tournament (England have 12 shots on target vs Germany's 28 and Spain's 29). We can agree it's not quite clicking but we could easily change the tide with generating more shots on target. It makes no difference if we have the best finisher in football, if you're only able to fashion 1 chance a game vs another teams 5/6 you're playing slim odds.
