The collaboration of Alan & Marilyn with Johnny Mandel is beyond superb. Why, oh why, do we no longer get music like they produce? i'm into my 83rd year and so glad i grew up when music was music and lyrics were lyrics.

If ever there was a tribute to the majesty of two sympatico minds and the silence that connects them, these two have found it. America couldn't have been the quality place it is without their genius. May their work be the basis for future generations of lyrical emotion. I stand in awe.

I'm afraid the world will never see another couple like Alan and Marilyn Bergman who dedicated their adult like working to put words to melodies in dramatic context for our listening enjoyment. RIP Marilyn you are terribly missed💔💔

One of the most respectable lyricist duo of all time! You'll be surprised to find out their names are written under those countless popular songs. They really put nice words into music that made composer so envy of them. I love them all for the most part. Thanks for all those songs. :-)

Since the 1970's when I first learned about the Bergmans, I have been under the impression that they were music composers and arrangers in addition to being lyricists. Today, nearly fifty years later, I learn that they are lyricists who wrote words for the music of Michel Legrand, Johnny Mandel, Marvin Hamlisch, and all the other great contemporary composers and arrangers. I love their work, but somehow I feel relieved, knowing that the talent associated with all this great music is distributed among many composers.

RIP Marilyn... legend.

Certainly Brooklyn and other boroughs of NYC produced a huge number of the best.......the best anywhere........actually...........of beautiful music and musical performances.

It is a sad loss to music history that Alan & Marilyn Bergman have not written their autobiography. I wish some writer would take up the project. There must be a fascinating story to tell for each song
