This man has turned down millions & millions in royalties to stick to his own principles you couldn't find a more honest person to tell you how it is.... listen.
Everytime I hear Alan speak, I'm better for the experience,he must be among the closest thing that there is to what a Druid was and I'm not talking about his appearance but his relaying of knowledge/wisdom/positive energy. Thanks Alan!
This is very inspirational to me, two years ago I decided to become a writer. And its a struggle, a rocky road filled with of self-doubt and loneliness. Writing is at best a lonely job. But I love it. So its great to hear from mr Moore. :)
Kinda like what Bob Dylan said. I think he said that he kept changing his style to keep it fresh, keep his interest and keep his creativity going. Dan Brown should listen to this interview.
It's interesting to compare/contrast the older, grayer Alan Moore with the younger, darker Alan Moore on the topic of art and writing. I like a guy who's not afraid to change.
faribx1 Moore isn't referring to Stephen King who has been incredibly successful, but has experimented just as Moore says here. King hasn't only done horror novels, he's also done Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. There are some things that repeat throughout his work like the city of Maine, or having several main characters that happen to be writers, but he isn't a J.K. Rowling or E.L. James that have written the same novel over and over again. King's ideas are incredibly creative.
