The first game was much better. Loved the forest parts. Much much better gameplay and atmosphere of those "ghosts", if you ask me....

True, there was something magical about Alan Wake 1 that the sequel didn't manage to reconstruct. It's still a very good game tho. It's just hard to compare those two games.

@@paralam2175 I agree with you, two different games, but atmosphere (horror) in the first one was much better. I loved the "exteriers" of the first game much more. It suited the game story better...

Alan wake was barely even an alan wake game sadly. They had the new girl boss take care of everything while alan wake just wanders back in the dark place somehow after finally leaving after 13 years.

the atmosphere could definitely be argued for but to say the gameplay is 'much much better' in AW1 is objectively false; AW2's gameplay is better in absolutely every aspect from a technical perspective. you're just trying to be a contrarian lol.

@@salanderfication Maybe so but that's because it isn't as unique and special as the first game both visually and gameplay wise. Plus the enemies are all pretty much the same and flashbangs are no longer cool and fun to use. The problem is they tried to be resident evil but failed because alan wake isn't resident evil.

This is so far the best version on RU-vid. Love how you add the line "it's not a lake it's an ocean" before the guitar solo.

10 years ago I don’t know if I could’ve appreciated this game like I do now having just recently played as I just got married and I relate so much to how Alice was Al’s muse and he would do anything and fight darkness itself to save her. Just this video along with the song moves me deeply. That’s powerful stuff.

Ok ow, this is much much better than the one I did 10 years ago haha. I tried the same with lining up the song with the story, but my editing skills and decisions on where is which were definitely lacking lol
