Work on it is underway! Currently Max Payne 1+2 Remakes are being made, they're in active production. Whereas Control 2, I believe, is nearing production readiness (i.e. pre-production is nearly done).
@@SidPhoenix2211 yeah, or according to update from 30th April 2024... I only got around to playing Alan Wake 2 about a month ago, and I’ll be damned if it wasn’t one of the best games I’ve played so far this decade. Scary, funny, and smart. Aaron, if you see this you should play it, and if not Calvin should because of its connections to Control.
I don't know the girl in pink but I think the other 2 are the main characters from other Remedy games. Red-haired girl is the telekinetic from "Control" and Shawn's character is the guy with time powers from "Quantum Break". Not sure if they'll have their powers here. Both games have pretty cool concepts honestly. Not sure what they're doing in Alan Wake though.
I don't think Shawn Ashmore is playing his character from Quantum Break, as much as I wish he was. His character in that game is named Jack Joyce. I believe there are still contractual issues with Quantum Break that prevent it from being incorporated into the Remedyverse.
The girl is Rose from the first and second Alan Wake. Shawn Ashmore plays a character in Alan Wake 2, it's not Jack Joyce, but they make plenty of indirect references to Quantum Break. Jesse is from Control, but it's a universe where she never got to the Bureau, she herself doesn't have powers in this instance.
@@cameronvincent3122 Yeah, they can't directly reference Quantum Break, but they make several indirect references, like Tim having dreams of Jesse and alternate versions of her, alternate versions of himself too. Remedy don't legally owe the rights to Quantum Break, so they do what they can for the people who have played it.
As a Finn and as a long time blind wave subscriber (since Arrow started), I’d love for you to play Alan Wake 2 AND watch love death and robots, bc Peter Franzén, a phenomenal Finnish actor who looks a bit like guy pearce mixed with willem dafoe, stars in an ldr episode And plays twins in aw2 who make hilarious low budget ads which I hope Rick will find funny :D
I did not enjoy Alan Wake 2. The combat was subpar. The story was somehow both boring and also really confusing at the same time. It’s like it was trying to trick you into thinking it was being clever by throwing a bunch of random nonsense at you. There’s a whole lot of just walking around looking for things. And I know what you’re gonna say. “Kids these days just want all action! They just want instant gratification!” It’s not the lack of action that bothered me. I actually would rather have a good story than good action. It’s just that this game had neither. I didn’t play the first game. I was told I didn’t need to. I really wanted to enjoy this game but I just didn’t. Is a second play through worth it? I heard things change on a second play through.
I think that you SHOULD play the first game. It really isn't that long, and it was be quite fun. A video by Bricky described it as "the best 6/10 game and I love it!". And while I'd rate it a little higher, it's a pretty apt description lol. It is just a lot of fun and the story and characters and lore are quite fun. Yes, while Alan Wake 2 was designed with new players in mind... I feel that they will get a lesser experience if they're not up to date on the first game. Also: playing Control is pretty helpful, too. Cuz these games are connected. They tell one big story. Playing just Alan Wake 2 and nothing else would kinda be like watching the third movie in a trilogy. You might follow it and have good enough fun, but you won't fully get it, won't be fully impacted by it. And I don't think that the game does stuff just to troll the audience or just to try and be clever etc. it certainly won't give you concrete answers for everything, cuz there is fun in mystery and theorizing. But yeah, playing it once more and watching playthroughs of it really highlights just how well-considered all the choices are. It is a pretty expertly crafted game wrt story and experience. And granted, it doesn't have the greatest combat system lol. It's serviceable. I will say tho, the punchy guns and feedback vfx make the gamefeel pretty satisfying. At least for me. But yeah, if you were intrigued by it even a little and still have some interest... Maybe another dive into the game and the remedyverse might help you out :) And ofc, not everything will be for everyone. And that's alright 😊. People can yell at me until they're blue in the face about how great the Witcher 3 is. But I played 43.5hrs of it and abandoned it cuz I was fed up with it lol
If you guys do end up playing Alan Wake II on stream, remember to NOT SKIP the end of chapter songs. Because they were all custom-made for the game, tie into the story and themes, and won't result in DMCA copyright strikes. Just the songs that play in the game's credits might result in DMCA strikes as they are existing, licensed songs by other artists. Letting y'all know cuz far too many streamers, understandably, skip them because they're afraid of strikes
