You can't be passive as an exercise. Passivity of mind, and mental silence are sources of energy. Let your brain work on your problems without interference from you (intuition etc). Alan Watts is my favorite philosopher, but I love him sometimes and can't stand him sometimes. There are times when I will listen to him for a week straight, and other times where I just roll my eyes. This is the duality of existence and thoughts in action

“All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.” Since I meditate more I realize that I really have to do less thing so do or "accomplish" more!!! I realize that most of the "things" I want to do are completely nonsense and only the creation of my imagination... I believe Watts refers to the state when you let your mind go and somehow it pops with the solutions. When you let go of a problem and the solution somehow magically pops into your mind. I believe he is referring to the mastery of this very art Peace and love brothers!

I close my eyes and imagine solutions. Then if I'm tired enough I doze off. When I wake up I may decide to try what I have in mind. If you schedule events in your life you can be more efficient with your time. I don't know if I want to do that myself, but I have a lot to do and I do appreciate the rest I get.

Tbh to me it kind of sounds like being a subject, in a sense to give away your freedom or free will voluntarily so you don't have to choose, to have mental freedom, by not using "your" mind

The irony in the statement “freedom is not having to choose” when the lack of choice itself is what we often consider tyranny or lack of freedom. So interesting that true freedom is finally reaching the polar opposite of having choice and not having to choose.
