I understand that AW died from alcoholism- I just can’t understand this because he seems to be at peace and has the ability to transmit the dharma as a Bodhisattva Mahasattva.Recently while listening to this lectureI sort of fell into an astral dream where he seemed to embrace me as a parent would an errant child and it seemed this lecture was directed to me personally.When he stopped speaking I felt refreshed and my fear of the possibility of never being free of loneliness was lifted from my spirit.I am unable to walk but I seem to be in relatively good health .This feels like a karmic punishment that few could endure.Strange how this particular talk affected me…Keep publishing AW as it seems that perhaps his world-view is finally getting through to those who need it most.I want to add that I went to a public talk of his some 50 years back.At the time I was impressed but now I am understanding what he is saying so much better.It is good thing to not over monetize these lectures -This will keep him from being just another TV or radio evangelist thus keeping his pure and effective.

Thank you for sharing this invaluable experience of yours, what you have been courageous enough to master and encounter as well as coming through that. I had only once a very vivid dream myself of him, simply that he was there in a room, but more of a fatherly figure. Very lucidly I remember this, in quite some detail. Also, I have been very interested in knowing whether anyone here has been to one of his talks in-person back in the day, and how that felt and was experienced, this is really compelling to hear!

Hi Jeffrey, if we look at alcoholism holistically, it brings to light the 'mind-body' match. I think we can all agree that the world is complex, confusing and disorienting for most of us, mentally. When we consume alcohol we become inebriated and so we get a 'mind-body' match, which give us 'relief'. Meth, crack or other accelerants, when introduced to someone with ADHD brings a mind-body match that brings immense relief. The hyperactive mind is often a symptom from neglect, trauma and intergenerational transference during childhood development. Mind, Body and Spirit are the pillars of personal health and Alan Watts challenged himself like no other. He spent his life trying to make sense of this puzzling world, so alcohol consumption makes sense. And it's no wonder alcohol is so prevalent. I like the idea that consuming 'Spirits' brings a mind-body match. lol

I'm sure Alan wouldn't have defined it as alcoholism. He just enjoyed drinking and was not afraid of death. He lived a great life and his teachings are still helping others. We're the ones that negatively characterize his death. Living longer doesn't mean better if you're not truly awake. He lived and died as he wanted.

This is one of his speeches that I've learned the most from. And, I found it easy to understand. He pretty much "stayed on topic" (sometimes he goes off on tangents for so long that I become lost) the entire speech. ❤

Ones perception and vibrating correctly with frequency as we're all energy and life itself can create a reality of self awareness and sense of liberation or a journey lived in ignorance or a blur in our perception based on a fixated mindset rather than openmindness and testing ones intuition to expand/evolve to the truth in which sets one free and much more aware.

I don't understand why is it so hard to some people to get that some simply don't believe in the same things they do, atheists don't get embarrassed and get rid of god, they simply don't believe such a being exists.

Yeah, it seems as though beliefs form the very fabric of our reality, those strongest beliefs are reality, but even knowing that beliefs can change / get updated is a first step to move outside of the belief system and see further. That everything is in a state of constant change and this change is incompatible with our ideas that there must be one fixed, permanent reason/cause/entity.

@@Jagombe1 we all believe in something at the end of the day right? even choosing not to believe is a belief . Even knowing that beliefs can just as quickly get deconstructed or updated is itself a belief, a stain of the human condition,

@@Jagombe1 it is not, atheism is about a lack of belief in the divine, so we are not all the same in that regard. We may all have other beliefs, but in this particukar case is about a lack, atheists more often than not are unable to believe in a divine being.

If God made man in his own image surely he would have made a woman from his own imagination and then the she would have imagined the man of which was in her own image from which made her so both became one which made 3. 0101 in one image made 3 Which all has a mirror version, a tangible version and a shadow version making 3 which reflected making 6 then 9 and so on
