Gold Roger Really?? Name this "legion" of Kenyans who have run sub 3:46.9 for one mile. Only a handful of people in the world can do that. And the commentator is just a guy in the crowd not a professional commentator, but then again,....I think you knew that.
@bee2690
@bee2690 9 лет назад
Joe Blow Well, to be fair, I think my lack of interest for this record is probably due to the fact that I am not american, I am canadian, thus I don't really care for american records. I agree this race is still impressive, however I enjoy a lot more the records from the olympics. But yeah, my dislike for this video is also due to the fact that this commentator is annoying as FUCK and makes me angry :D

His wife even ran our cool down with us after the race and asked about us, but I was just amazed I got to meet julia webb. even as we left, a teammate yelled out the window, "We love you Alan". I was born in Albuquerque NM. When I was 25 years old, in the year 2005, I was serious about running. We have a road named "Tramway". I was running one night. All by myself. And so I wanted to see how fast I can cover a mile. There are actual mile markers on the sides of Tramway road. I had a wrist watch on my left arm. I started the stopwatch, and thought it best to take off at about 70% of my fastest spirnt. I started to slow down around 250 meters, then I held an high-knee prancing jog posture and kept running. I had to slow down my pace, to allow for a car to make a right turn. But then I picked up the pace again. Back to my prancing posture. And after I crossed the mile marker line,.. it took me about two seconds to stop my stopwatch. And when I stopped it,... It read 3:16. And I wasn't even breathing to heavy afterwards. ✊😎 But... Sadly... I am the only one who believes my story. Because I was the only one who witnessed my own world class mile record of: 3:16. But then.... Something strange happened!!🤔 Just a few weeks later, I was in my living room playing with my musical keyboard. I had a picture of the Biblical verse of John (3:16), hanging on the wall in my living room. Which reads: For God ✨Soooooooo✨ 💓loved💓 the world,.... That he gave his only begotten son,... That (💥whosoever💥) believeth in (him),... Shall 💥NOT💥 perish,.... But have 💥EVERLASTING LIFE💥.😇😎✊ And in that very same minute, day and season of my life. I made it into a song, that has a very catchy rift. And, .. through that entire experience, I came to understand that,.... Sometimes it may seem like we humans are born to run a mile faster than anybody else can,... Or to be the strongest man/woman in the world,.. or accomplish the greatest feats and displays of mankind's strength and knowledge of all time.... Though we may think this way,.... Yet I understood that God knows each and every one of us. And he has 20.000.000.000 times GREATER things in store for those who just simply believe in Jesus name. And walk in the fear of God. (The Holy God of Israel, (YAHUAH). Amen. And than we can even imagine up for ourselves! And then I understood WHY, that there is not one eye that has seen, niether is there any ear that has heard,... All of the wondrous and ✨GREAT & AWESOME✨ things that God has in store for those who wait on HIM. And that do according to his Righteous JUDGEMENTS. By giving to the poor, caring for the hurting and broken hearted. going out of their own way for the help of the hurting and needy, constantly dying to self, like Jesus Christ commanded us to do. And living and walking in the Holy Spirit on a daily basis. And constantly studying to understand God's holy word. And praying, repenting of their sins. And turning away from ALL unrighteousness. These are amongst the Innocent. And are counted Righteous before God. And these are the elect and chosen, who have their own senses tuned in to know exactly HOW to walk in the ways of Righteousness. And have their hearts and minds programmed to do good works for others, even ignoring their own needs above another's needs. and by these means,.. (WAIT) on YAHUAH/God. And that these are the REAL & TRUE Children and WINNERS in the BIG RACE of time. Shalom to all who fear Yahuah God. Amen.✊😇💪👏

When I was in high school (graduated year 2000) I had a classmate who was rank #1 in our county. Supposedly he ran under 4 mins. He gave it all up due to losing interest, but I’m sure there was more to it than that. He became anti-social. He was seriously gifted in long distance runs.

A sub-4 in college is still considered very good. Where did you get your info regarding college guys and sub-3:50s? College runners compete at 1500 meters, which more than 100 meters less. The mile is barely ever contested nowadays. High School runners compete at 1600meters, College runners at 1500meters. (1mile =1609meters) There is a conversion chart, last year the fasted converted college miler ran a 3:57. (During the college season)

4:29. Senior year. Best time of my personal mile times throughout high school. And i did it RIGHT AFTER my 100 meter dash. Didn't even have time to change my sprinting cleats. My spikes friggin clicked the WHOLE DANG RACE!!!!! It was embarrassing during but what a triumph! Only, it was at states, and i was second to last! I couldn't have run it any better at the time... First place was 4:07. Still never beat that time even after going to The USMC!!!!! And even in bootcamp, i started at about 250th out of 743 people, and over the course of those 3 months at good ol' P.I., shaved it down to 4:11. AAAAAND, i got up to the 2nd fastest out of 725! I just couldn't catch this guy... And he was ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS!!! about 10 seconds faster than my time!!!!! Pissed me off so SO SOOOOOOO BAAAAD!!!!!!!👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿!!!!!!!!!!!! It genuinely felt like the guy was secretly The Flash, and was just messin with me and doin just enough to stay permanently that far ahead!!!!! Never forget that guy... Lance corporal out of boot, LC AYALA. Became one of my best buddies since then, too. Humble as could be, too. Always could count on him to set the record straight and knock that cocky chip off my shoulder... 😒 Became the biggest influence on the importance and pride in being as great as you can, and achieving better than everyone (including yourself) expects you to be able. All the while, maintaining the humility that should be ultimately shared and expertly combined with the greatness one can portray when given such gifts and/or abilities that should NEVER be squandered or taken for granted or wasted. And this great example of what it takes to be a REAL MAN by the very truest definition of the term, ended up giving his life for others who will never know the depth of the impact he made in so many lives, and would still be doing so today... But, that's the catch, because he had such humility mixed with his noteworthy capability, he was able to have the courage and the heart and the discipline to disregard the worth and value of himself and sacrifice EVERYTHING so that those who have the potential for greatness or the skill to excel or the ability stand in the way of those who would choose to attain horrible and terrifying atrocities as their pinnacle of success, may have the opportunity to attempt do what ALL REAL MEN SHOULD STRIVE FOR ; And what it is, is simple; but to continuously choose to do it on a consistent basis and have the dedication to see it made permanently a part of who they are and the perseverance to not be sidelined or dragged down by those who would try to hinder you with or without intent. And that is to do your extreme best, never settle for a goal that you have reached without setting a higher one and faithfully keeping up with forward progress. And most importantly, to understand and accept that no matter how much you have achieved, how much better than others you are at anything, or how much prestige you may get for your accomplishments, you CAN do incredible things and have immense impact on others lives, so why would the message you want to send or the legacy you want to leave be about how much better you thought you were at something, instead of trying to assist as many souls as possible to see the light and take what pride they can in an infinite number of ways in the world we live in today, and for your message of true strength and genuine kindness masterfully working in synchronicity to spread the type of wealth that people should really be seeking and to properly prioritize and pursue the utmost important form of living... By doing it with excellence, responsibility, humility, honor, and selfless sacrifice. The prime examples of this combination of qualities constantly dwindles because THEY WILL ALWAYS BE THE ONES WHO MAKE SUCH EXTRAORDINARY SACRIFICES IN THE PLACE OF THOSE WHO WOULDN'T DARE, AND BECAUSE THEIR MOTIVATION IS PURE, AND NOT FOR NOTORIETY, MOST OF THESE HEROES OFTEN SLIP THROUGH THIS WORLD UNSEEN, UNHEARD, AND NEVER TALKED ABOUT... 😞😞😞😞😞 God Bless ALL of the unsung heroes who should be the kinds of people we idolize and have posters of and want to emulate... May somebody that you have impacted share the importance of your integrity and make your lesson commonplace so that our futures may be better ones... R.I.P. SERGEANT AYALA GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN, MY GOOD FRIEND!!! STILL PUTTING UP THE GOOD FIGHT!!! OOH-RAH!!! SEMPER FI!!!

All my life I had trouble with Asthma, I'm not very tall (5'8) and always struggled with running but over the years I brought my mile time down over and over. During the 10th grade I finally brought it down to 5:30 without any training just typical school running. 8th grade I got my first sub 8 minute and 9th was my first sub 7. 10th was sub 6 but unfortunately no longer needed to run miles after that year so I don't know what I could've done. Point is that anyone who struggles with mile times can get it to a good speed if you try hard enough

A 346 mile is quite impressive. I believe that the WR for the mile was set by El Guerrouj in 342, but Alan Webb's American record is impressive for the fact that the AR had stood for 25 yrs. This is Alan Webb's moment. They don't come often, and when they do it is a pivotal moment or defining moment in an Athletes career.
