Pumpkin has always amazed me with her maturity level that seems well beyond her years, and Alana is taking after her sister. Glad to see Pumpkin remains a positive role model in Alana’s life.

Who would have guessed that pumpkin would have matured so well. As the saying goes never judge a book by its cover.

20 and 16 is not where it’s at. He’s in college, he should be dating college girls.

I just have to say how impressed I am with Alana and Pumpkin. They both turned out to be amazing young women despite all odds, Alana is a really good kid. Both these young ladies seem to vey intelligent.

Finally, having a secure home with her big sissy of course & even love from her boyfriends parents, all this means so much to a teenager! Just because he loves her doesn’t make it right, he is grown and she is still a teenager…. Us as women we go through a phase in life where we think we are grown. She doesn’t understand that she is a victim but later on in life she’s going to understand that she was taken advantage of. June was pregnant at 16 and so was Pumpkin. I hate to see Alana go down that same path. Plenty of time to have kids when you've got an education and actually worked for a living.

But Dralin got arrested for SR of one of his ex girlfriends. I would keep a very close on him. 👀 But I’m sure that Pumpkin and Josh are aware of that situation. And that’s why they set those boundaries. I’m so glad that Pumpkin and Josh stepped up.

Usually I’d agree with what ppl are saying about the age difference but I think in this case pumpkin is doing the right thing. He is a little older but they took time to get to know each other’s families and supervise their dating. Alanna has been through a lot and men who want to be predators pounce on that. I was surprised to learn that Pumpkin is only 22. June should really be ashamed. You left your 18 year old kid to raise your daughter then don’t even want to pay child support? Such a deadbeat. I think a lot of people don’t like Dralin because he’s Black. From what he has displayed on the show, he seems like a good guy and is making Alana happy.

4 years definitely isn’t a big age gap at all and wouldn’t matter if Alana was 18 and he was 22 or she was 20 and he’s 24. It’s the fact they’re at two completely different stages in life. He’s going to be able to drink legally soon and she’s going to get her license, two different life stages and mindsets right now

Well my oldest just turned 18 & her ex boyfriend just turned 23. Yep they was dating when she was 17. And her dad is 5yrs older than me & my youngest dad is 6yr older than me. So I couldn't say anything especially when her ex is respectful & hard working. I NEVER like guys my age when I was younger. So Karma came back & I faced her,Karma,. Plus when you know you've raised your daughter to respect & love herself to the fullest than you HAVE to trust that she listen & TRUST that as a parent YOU DID A GOOD JOB!!

The age thing is huge! However, as long as he's not pushing her to do adult things while she's still a kid, makes her happy, is good to her, is respectful, honest faithful, and will be able to provide later down the road then I think the rules Pumpkin and Josh have set are appropriate an so far it seems to be working out great. Every family is different and operates differently. I say I'd NEVER allow my 16 year old date a 21 year old, but honestly idk how'd I'd react an handle that situation with either one of my girls. Pumpkin is a very good Mama and has/is doing a great job with Alana an her own babies As parents we want to shelter our babies from everything, but once they get to a certain age we HAVE to give them some trust and space our we'll push them away, into rebellion, a significant other that's toxic, ect... we're not given a handbook when we become parents. None of us are perfect and not 1 person can say they're a parent and haven't made 1 mistake since becoming 1 no matter how long you've been 1. What matters is we learn from our mistakes an don't make the same 1 again. We just do our best to raise our babies to be kind, loving, successful, humble, and caring people as well as love unconditionally, nurture, protect, teach, play, ect our babies till we take our last breath. Hopefully Pumpkin and Josh's 4 babies will play a good long role of being birth control lol I used to say my sisters girls were my BC cuz even though I love them dearly I didn't wanna be a teen Mom. I had my first when I was 21(prego 21st bday) and had my last when I was 32. I wish Alana the best

I like how the interviewer said “well he drives you everywhere doesn’t he” basically highlighting the dynamic of how predatory in nature the relationship is. Clearly Alana probably wants to go out and do stuff and have someone pay for it but I don’t think their relationship is appropriate.

I don't see the big deal on their age gap. When I was in high school I my boyfriend was in college. It's like a senior in high school dating a freshman. It happens everyday. And Alana isn't an immature child, as the host pointed out she's lived a lot of life and has gone through and witnessed things that grown women haven't and she has used all that to make her a better person. If Alana were 18 or older, the age gap wouldn't even be an issue. It's because she is a teen and he is 21 that it's an issue. Personally, I wouldn't let my teen daughter date an adult, but with this family it seems they have set boundaries and are supervising how Alana is dating, additionally she's in a more secure and loving environment. Also with both families involved and ensuring the wellbeing of all involved means that they care about them. At the end of the day, we can all have an opinion but they are the ones living with whatever choices they make and their lives will continue regardless of what anyone says about it.
