@@vitalepitts exactly they don’t know what they are talking about... at this point I think jerks self-generate, there is literally one for every video that is actually good... this is a great performance
I started reading the comments before reaching 3:00 and then noticed the megaphone in the video and was all like "ooooooh, I think I know what that will be used for" ;).
I'm so tempted to share this with people, but I feel like it'll just sound like chaos to people who don't know the original. This was without a doubt the most impressive thing I've seen played bay an orchestra.
@@JustaRandomGuy890 Would be a good friendship test. "You listened all the way to the end of both clips, right..?" (Oh they've blocked me. Wasn't meant to be.)
@@shockedmusic1 Anyone can use the equipment, but not be as good as Aphex. Flim, Avril 14 were not jam session accidents. Imo anyway. No harm done if you don't agree. Cheers
@@shockedmusic1 Sure, as anyone can be a composer, but that does not mean that he is as good as Mozart. Anyone can say that we can all be as good as Beethoven, but saying this does not make it happen. Your comment is silly, obviously not everyone can be as good as Aphex Twin and we can verify this using a bit of logic.
@gian franco are you mentally slow? Aphex Twin named his music "IDM" so its the correct usage of the term. Although him naming it what it is might be a joke he played on the media
I always loved what these people did for this album. Now, after all these years, I randomly see this video. It makes me imagine how many times they all listened to this song together to deconstruct it. It would be cool as flip if there was footage of that process. It would be cool to see what their approach to any microtuning in these pieces would have been.
Fantastic. The Acoustica release still finds time on my rotation. I have always heard a lot of whimsy and playfulness in Aphex Twin's music (later blatant trolling of the popular arm of the music industry), and it reminds me of Boccherini, and even Vivaldi. I'm not a fan of things like "The Bee Gees Go Classical" which is just pish to me, but this is genuinely sublime. So give the drummer(s) some more! 1:14 Get in there, my chap! 1:20 A rather handsom looking rubber plunger on the table there behind the fine fellow. 2:13 Loving the Lady on the right playing the violin who is clearly having fun and can't help but smile. 2:30 Lady feeling it. 2:59 Will they do it? Of course they will. They're professionals: Respect the source material, no smothering PC culture here! 3:47 Not enough emphasis on the singular beautiful sound of plucking in most orchestral pieces. Let's fix that. 4:04 You got this! What a glorious ensemble of talented misfits. And I say that in the most amiable way. To perform some Aphex one night, and then the next night some will be performing Bach's Cello Suites, some oboe sessions for a movie soundtrack etc... I just hope that the change in music is always a wonderful and nutritional one.
@@sorexminutus6211 People that have their minds stuck on the past and still don't respect electronic music and such. Just really stupid people. I always show them Avril 14th
Amazing. I mean, to be honest, "amazing" isn't even close to what i really felt... You guys have to do it with his new track T69 Collapse. Damn, that videoclip is the best thing i've ever saw. And i saw a lot of stuff on the internet. Keep up wih the tremendous good work and greetings from Brazil.
This rendition gives me great peace of mind, I'm not the only one who feels the genius of Richard D James in my bones, who's music I love dearly! still!
@@Sebrewer32 okay, weird for some reason I heard donuts the first time, upon this listen it's clear that it's cunts?! Totally weird how I misheard that. Evidentally 26 other people have too?!
very great job, though it's too bad the "acid cello" can't be heard as much as it should (comparing to how it sounds in the electronic version ; heard at 0:54 here)
How facinating to watch! The orchestra are simple awsome! Torally brand new for me to experience an orchestra behaving in such an erratic manor! Class!!
Oh thank god you do really exist !!! Well... I don’t believe in god, but I do believe in Aphex Twin. May his reign happen... Thank you so much for playing this so well 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼✨✨❤️
respect for nailing the tuning... and the "come on!..." bit... have to say though, this does show that humans just cannot groove like machines at this tempo!!
Good work! I'm imagining that the first step would be to take the actually midi track data & using some software convert it into normal musical notation. Then it would be a case of deciding which classical instrument to use for each part. It is a work of genius though Drukqs is an amazing album. The more you listen to it the more logical sense it makes.
I remember buying this cd and being BLOWN out the water when I heard it. I wish it could be released on Vinyl ! (please excuse my language but, this is a FUCKING gem) Then I went back to the store and bought a 2nd copy for the car. The orchestra and the it's member's really put this style/sound on a whole new level. Respect from Montreal, Canada.
Messy L Are you referring to an album by AlarmWillSound, or the original by Aphex Twin, because the original actually had a vinyl pressing (although it is quite rare).
iirc, drukqs is mastered digitally. I'm as big of a fan of vinyl as the next guy, but if a record is pressed from a digital master, or the content is recorded digitally, then there's literally no difference in sound to be had from an analog medium. There could be collector's value, but that's it.
@@benallan2328 I was refering to the album by "Alarm Will Sound". (I have a copy of the original by AFX and collect all of his projects released on vinyl) I am a geek like that.
Dude!!! This is exactlyu What I Was Looking For! I wonder if it is possible to have the fullscore, I'm a composer here in México City. And right now I'm Orchestrating a piece in witch this kind of sound textures are needed. I'll appreciate too much, it is just for studying, not for comercial porpuses. ¡Cheers Maestr@s!
