Alarming 155% Surge in Grave Violations Against Childdren in Gaza: UN Calls for Immediate Action

The Security Council met on 26 June 2024 in an open debate to discuss the theme "How to advance our collective norms towards protecting children and ending all grave violations" and consider the latest report of the Secretary-General (document S/2024/384). The Council was briefed by Virginia Gamba, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict. She mentioned that the conflict in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza, has led to a 155% increase of grave violations against children.
In his annual report, UN Secretary-General António Guterres wrote: “I am appalled by the dramatic increase and unprecedented scale and intensity of grave violations against children in the Gaza Strip, Israel and the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, despite my repeated calls for parties to implement measures to end grave violations.”

When is there going to be a real stop to these crimes? Talking about things we all see does nothing. I will remain focused on a Palestine being free of the occupation and the people of Palestine being safe forever as they rebuild lives with fresh food, clean water, and safe places to play and sleep!

Could you imagine what the children in the jails are going through? Any biotch who looks to inflict their fantasies/harboring anxieties/coward power atrocities out on a child should be held accountable to the highest most fitting consequence. This goes for all past and present crimes against children. "Our children are our future". 😢

She is unable to mention even one of the millions of violations by Israel without bringing up Hamas. This proves there is no hope for the Palestinians in the near future, at least for the next 10 years.
