I think this kind of newscasting grind is designed for those who missed the previous night’s late news programs (TWT and The Weekend News [in the case of Sundays] to be specific) which were in English back then and at the same time somehow, in order for the mostly vernacularly-fluent audiences to understand the stories presented there on those two newscasts.
Before the introduction of Alas 5:30 Patrol, this served as the original news broadcast for ASYM. Occasionally, Gilbert Remulla anchored news segments delivered in English very often, while Mike Cohen, a pure American, demonstrated fluency in Tagalog when reporting on world news.
@@senorpedrosrooster Good Morning Asia is a now-defunct news morning show of GMA Network. Produced by GMA News and Public Affairs (now GMA Integrated News and GMA Public Affairs), it is hosted by Mon Isberto and Grace dela Peña. The show aired from April 7, 1997 to April 8, 1998 together with GMA Balita which had been lasted for almost 12 years since it first aired on May 19, 1986 and was replaced by Mornings @ GMA on April 13
I think the reason lang naman siguro is that to reuse the reports that were aired the night before sa TVP, until the introduction of separate news reports sa morning lalo na yung Balita sa Magdamag
may video ka ba nung old GMA 7 afternoon drama titled "pira-pirasong pangarap?" matagal ko na kasing hinahanap yun since lagi yung pinapanood ng grandmother ko nung elementary pa lang ako.
