On day 12 of our Alaska road trip, Randi and the kids are introduced to Tim Horton's for the first time before we leave the Mile 0 Campground in Dawson Creek British Columbia to drive the first 425 miles of the ALCAN (aka the Alaska Highway).
A couple hours into our drive, we run into a closure of the Alaska Highway and wait 6 hours for a fatal accident to be cleaned up before the highway is reopened. While waiting, we meet Dean and Rick, a pair of bikers from Vernon British Columbia, who are riding to the Arctic Circle to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society, and Raeleen gets to sit on one of their Motorcycles. We invite them to get out of the weather and relax in the back of the Adventure until the highway reopens.
After finally getting back on the road, we make a stop for dinner in Fort Nelson before continuing on to the Northern Rockies Lodge and RV Park in Muncho Lake British Columbia. It's nearly 11PM by the time we arrive. We see the sunset for the first time on our trip.
