We drive to Beautiful Skagway Alaska and then board a ferry. The ferry ride takes us all from Skagway to Haines. Once in Haines we enjoy a few days and prepare to learn how to fish Alaska. Follow along and please SUBSCRIBE.

This is wonderful, I almost feel like I'm on the trip. Cooking here in Texas and snow on the ground there... Question - was the ferry the only way to get to Haines or did you take the ferry for another reason. How are road conditions? Most of the videos I've seen the road conditions into Alaska were not the best. This is definitely next on our list to make our way to Alaska.

Hi Jean. There are two ways to get to Haines, take the ferry or drive the long way around. Compared to the hours of driving and the fuel cost to drive it was cheaper and quicker to take the ferry. It also was a super neat experience. The roads through Alaska can get rough, so you have to go with the mind set of not being in a rush. There were days we didn’t travel over 45 mph and section you have to go even slower. The experience of being in Alaska is to us worth it. We will, Lord willing go back some day.
