Bringing back the series with a bang! Join me and my friends Evan Hone and Zach Miller as we venture up north to "the last frontier" in Anchorage/Seward/Eagle River, Alaska to race in the Crow Pass Crossing. A brutally technical 22-mile point-to-point race held every July that runs from Girdwood to the Nature Center in Eagle River.
After the race, we hit the road to the site of Mount Marathon in Seward, Alaska.

Yeah, I was waiting for some footage of a bear or two. Even a bear that was off in the distance or something. Or a moose. Still a great running video though.

seoul588 who is “they”? I edited the piece so you can always blame me but there’s no denying Scott’s talent and resume. Not to mention he is a really nice and genuine guy. At the end of the day, this was just a documentation of 3 dudes having fun in Alaska :)
@JAHinHK
@JAHinHK 6 лет назад
Billy Yang Films I meant at the ten minute mark race introductions. They made a big deal of the out-of-towner folks. Just seemed to bypass Scott. Maybe because he's a known entity to those in attendance.
@deanpereza
@deanpereza 6 лет назад
The out-of-towner folks race internationally and win races whereas Scott is pretty low key with his races. The point of the organizer of making a big deal with them so that it will attract more runners around the world. Scott is very talented but he needs to get out/race more outside Alaska.

Oh man, great video, and excellent job capturing what it's really like in that part of Alaska. I grew up there, and ran Mt. Marathon as a "junior" back in '78 (way before there was ever a lottery). The rainy, cold summers. The broken car windshields. The dirt roads. The homes littered across the countryside. The fireweeds. Sunlit skies at night. And the fear of "real" bears. Yep.......you nailed it. That's Alaska!

@sunnydas8802

The probability of running into a bear on the trail seems pretty high .I am not sure if it is a good idea to organize a race here ,especially since a runner is most likely to startle a bear then maybe a hiker. I am sure the adventure element is the siren here along with the beautiful locale. Having said that kudos to all the runners and the race organizers, I maybe reading too much into the bear threat...
