My theory Alastor found out that making a deal with a heavenly creature is the way to be. However this type of deal have z lot of strings attached. Maybe Alestor didn't know the problems or he was in desperate situation and he made the deal with a heavenly creature. This creature could be Archangel Gabriel (who is the messager of God and the protector of who works for radio and television) and he order Alastor to help and protect Charlie and her hotel. In Alostor's breakdown song is clear he want to be bad, the worst but someone has him in control. Why Gabriel and not Lilth? Because I don't think Lilith would approve Charlie's hotel. Lilith wants power and the more sinners are in hell, the more powerful she is. So I think there is someone in Heaven who is helping Charlie behind the scene. Last think Alostor's powers are green. I can explain his weird “in hell with power already” question. Dude was a cannibal in life, is it such a big stretch that eating people was kind of like consuming their souls, basically he started gaining power early. Came to hell with a “pay to play” pack. That explains the little ‘bendy and the ink factory’ looking minions he can summon.
I don’t think Al was a cannibal, all I know is that he killed people then buried their bodies, and one time when he was doing this he got mistaken for a deer and he got shot and killed.

He was a human, Viv already showed his human form (human form that, for the amount of the fan-art, japanese fans love to bits) and he was a radio host and a serial killer, Alastor never touched Heaven when he died. We still don't know why he was so freaking powerful but the thing is his deal is limiting him. I have the theory that the deal include him not being able to make new soul deals or maybe even permanently kill people (the loan sharks doesn't count, being sinners they'll respawm in Pentagram). He want to unclip his wings, that means return to be the fucking boogie man of overlords.
He probably contracted his deal early on his arrival in Hell, which granted him strength, but he probably can’t use it freely. If Lilith is the one who made a contract with him, she probably used it to get into Heaven in some way or another.

Once I figure out how to unclip my wings is like the coolest metaphor. And it’s just that. It’s like he has power still, but his wings have been clipped like a birds. He can still sorta reach that power like we see in some of the episodes but he can’t truly “fly” he is just “gliding”
I think that lilith owns alastors soul because she made a deal with him, giving him that amount of power if he watched/protected her daughter, aka charlie, he agreed and during his breakdown he says "once I figure out how to un clip my wings" could be referring to him getting his soul back

If this were to be true it would be interesting to think about what if Alastor and Lilith made a deal switching their places and Alastor, originally being a fallen angel, would have ridiculously strong attacks. Not to mention that people wouldn’t know he was an angel and would die at his hands. This also would lead me to believe that Alastor is trapped from growing stronger from the deal as a limiter set by Lilith to prevent absolute chaos. Something that would be interesting is if alastors staff is an angelic weapon which is why Alastor didn’t need one to fight with Adam as he was confident his former angelic staff could do the job. Overall this theory is highly unlikely given alastors past but boy would it be interesting.

I think that when he sacrificed himself for his friends and helped them, which are some the steps to get to heaven, when he said that hes going to unclip his wings, he was saying that he probably doesnt want to go to heaven and wants to stay as a powerful overlord demon
One thing that made me think he was fallen was the line in the song about the clipped wings. But I think it's more then that; as Alastor has evil shadow which is also the form of his demonic powers. I say he's not just a fallen, but he's demonically possessed and the shadow is the what is the true evil working through him. It could be one of the Sins of hell we have yet to see in Hazbin/Helluva yet or something else. But that shadow, I swear that's the true Alastor.

I realized a few hours ago while chatting with my best friend that lilith disappeared 7 years ago, and alastor also disappeared for 7 years, and I rly dont think alastor would make a deal with another overlord or lucifer 💀

Clearly alastor had his friends join and bring him loot before he joined the server That way when alastor spawned he got free Diamond armour and enchanted weapons Not just that alastor possibly went through Bleach hollow progression before joining the server seeing how he is a cannibal he must be used to eating others (similar to how hollows eat other hollows) and his long ass nose is definitely a nod to him at some point being a menos This explains why people believe alastor is a quincycar but in reality he is a arrancar. My theory is that alastor is Definitely an angel at some point. In the fight between Adam and Alastor. Alastor underestimated the limited amount of power he had. He killed other overlords to gain his power, the phase he uses about wings is metaphorical which is that his powers were limited, and it’s most likely that the relationship between Alastor and the person who illegally made a deal with him (Lilith, I don’t remember if it was confirmed officially that it was her but it probably is) will be brought to light in either season 2 or 3 😊 Hope this helped ! :3
If Alastor is something other than just a demon, its probably a wendigo. Which seems to be the inspiration for his design. While how he did does probably play a part, how a wndigo is made and depicted plays alot into Alastor's backstory.

If Lilith is the person that owns Alastor soul, then it would make sense why he would get a lot of power because he made a deal to a demon royalty. The Morningstar family of all royals would have the most power anyway

The wings being clipped is a phrase I know it's what some bird owners do when they get thier bird to keep the from flying all over the place too much since it doesn't hurt them ans they grow it back and they can still kind of fly but they fully lift thier body weight
