Alba Party MPs Neale Hanvey and Kenny MacAskill have been suspended from the Commons as Boris Johnson faced Prime Minister's Questions for the last time as party leader.
Mr MacAskill appeared to say "we need a referendum in the Prime Minister".

Parliament is probably the only instance in which I forgive such behaviour. I don't know what they were shouting about today but there are times when they're shouting about very important things and it can affect future policy making for the better. I know that if I entered politics and represented thousands and thousands of people like us, and our grandparents struggling to pay for food, and homeless people sleeping on cold streets, I'd want to shout too.

@@ryans756 They were pointing out, that since a majority of Scots MPs were elected for parties that want a referendum on Scottish Independence, Scotland has a mandate for such a referendum. (Regardless of the wishes of Mr Johnson or the English-MPs majority in Westminster.) TWO sovereign nations signed up to Acts of Union. EITHER nation can choose to repeal that Treaty of Union. For some reason, the English (90%) Parliament don't like hearing from their 'Partner' in this 'Voluntary Union'. (And good luck to England in trying to prove they haven't been breaking the terms of the contract all along anyway.) C'mon the Scots!

Pleading with the tories to please shush so he can shout himself hoarse at the other side of the house. Both sides are acting up and he lets the tories braying slide every damn week. That does not go unnoticed. This speaker would never survive as a teacher, the politicians clearly have no respect for him, he lacks any authority and treats both sides of the house differently. His blantant partiality and clear favouritism removes any sense of authority. Why respect someone playing favourites in what is essentially the role of a referee. The tories feel imboldened by his unwillingness to act on their bad behaviour encouraging them to see how far they can push and what they can get away with before he reacts, which he very rarely ever does, and the opposition see this clear unfairness in action whenever he calls one of them out for doing something he has let a tory away with.

The vast majority of Scottish MPs have been elected from parties that openly support holding another referendum. So obviously Scotland has such a mandate. To say otherwise would be like saying England has no mandate to implement any Conservative Party policies. PS, that room sounded pretty disruptive already without ALBA MPs saying anything. Lol

I'm Irish. Can anyone tell me if the Speaker of the Commons has compelled Boris Johnson to correct his false statements about Downing Street parties, etc. This is a standard procedure in most parliaments, but I don't remember this happening once with Johnson.

I actually think that Lindsay Hoyle is a useless speaker. We (still) have a PM who has consistently lied at the dispatch box....but it seems OK for that to happen. I can never imagine Bercow saying "shut up" or anything such colloquial and rough. Despite the matters, I found Hoyle not even close in question of capabilities to mr. Bercow. I know, time has changed, but being so rude, so uncapable in making crowd calm. Well, it's not about sco'ish (even though they've been always a noisy ones),. but it's also about speaker - the one, who must lead and must be a role model. So, this house is making its way into abyss. With all their great effort.
