Littleproud hasn't a clue. Sudan will export live sheep whether we do or not, along with around 100 other countries. We don't now, never have had, and never will have any control over on-board conditions of vessels exporting live animals from any other country. The conditions won't get any worse if we stay and they won't get any worse if we leave. But guess what? A voyage from Sudan to Jordan or Israel takes less than two days; it takes 17 days from Fremantle. We also appear to have no control over what happens on the ships that service Australia, given that, according to Independent Observer reports between May 2018 and now, heat stress is observed on 60% of voyages and in every month of the year outside of the prohibition period of 1 June to 14 September, 80% of IO reports mentioned sheep dying from inanition (starvation), and ASEL breaches were observed on 75% of voyages.
