Labors been trying to undermine Australia's Constitutional Federation even before 1st Jan 1901. The Labor party formed on 8th May 1901. Then in 1910 Fisher won Labor's first majority democratic socialist government. Who wasted absolutely no time in attempting a power grab with two 2 unsuccessful referendums 1910-13. The Braddon Clause (s.87) of the Constitution provided for Commonwealth revenue until 1910. This was intensified when Labor won elections in South Australia in April 1910, New South Wales in October 1910, and Western Australia in October 1911. The promised land seemed to be in sight.
