The instrument is the Chappie Veng, Master Kong Nay is famous for his Mekong Delta Blues style, the Blind 77 year old is a National Treasure. How he survived the Khmer Rouge era when they Killed all the musicians I don't Know. Skull (if I die) is a good song to do early. As he sings of his journey, Your VannDa Reactions are well appreciated.

this track have many meanings.but my favorite meaning from this is probably telling everyone to push forward, but never forget those that help paved the way. as well as, old and new generation should support each other for the sake of the future. i really appreciate u looking into the history of the khmer people. it has been through a lot and i hope it can finally recieve peace and happiness.

The grand Master Kong Nay is a LEGENDARY Chapei Dangveng singer in Cambodia (Kampuchea) compare to BABE KING the Blues Singer in USA . The instrument called: CHAPEI or CHAPEY Dang Veng. Thank you for interesting to reaction Khmer song!.

If I may, let me drop a lil 411 on Master Kong Nay. He is 77 years old & a blind Cambodian music legend from way back before the wars & genocide. They killed off almost every wealthy, educated & intelligent Khmers including famous Khmers in the entertainment industry. If you so much as to wear or own reading glasses… yo ass was killed, straight up. They kept all the really poor & uneducated folk alive to work the farms & so hard labor. They were treated as slaves. The children were trained to be soldiers, many forced to kill their own parents & family members. Many escaped & those who were unlucky went into hiding or were on the run to nearby refugee camps in neighboring countries. Millions were killed off. The fact that we still have Master Kong Nay is a true blessing. We are so fortunate to still have him & alive and well to tell the stories through his music… which is where the “testify” part comes into this. He is a true legend, one of the last few surviving members of our great past before things went dark in our country. Cambodians from around the world honor him. We love & respect him. He is the OG of classic Cambodian music. 🇰🇭
