@jstot1231 I had Albert Markov as a teacher too for 4 years in Manhattan School in the mid90's- I benefited the most and I am really glad I studied with him. Such violinists, teachers, and music personalities are really hard to find- deeply rooted into the REAL tradition yet openminded and in love with the functional
SUPERB, ... Heart felt, heart warming and compassionate. Very few fathers expirance such an occasion and even fewer sons show this amount of gratitude.
140 pieces of wood and 8 metal wires + humans - and this is what comes out !!! It made me think not to forget our human interactions because all of our imachines would be nothing without the humans behind them .....

The beautiful Russian bow hold. I wouldn't be able to play without it from wrist dysplasia. I figured it out from Markov's performance of the 24 caprices and was able to play violin again.
I) Wonderful - Performance & 2) a) I urge all the "petty" critiques" 2 focus on general taste rather than "own taste" thus be open to "xlnt" music & "new arrangements" & b) to all the (young) people who so often lack "modesty" & think they "know it all". Try to enjoy such music without tearing it down & risk not being pathetic... ;-) Good luck leading a happy life ;-)
2:33 check bow hand , tick on index fingers, both of them. But Alexander started it, he is to be blamed :D Albert just started repeat it after his son. It is so funny :D
holy sh*t, it sounds sometimes like the whole big symphony orchestra, sometimes like string quartet, sometimes like guitar, sometimes like doublebass solo how ? HOW ?? H O O O W ?????? It is just a violin and a viola ! I go uninstall myself just now :D
It’s gorgeous but the music feels like an argument. What is that suppressive expression in their tones. It’s not in the other recording I’ve heard today. Markov kick
