Met Mr Lee in the early 90's at the Ernie Ball factory in San Luis Obispo, California.Free Q and A session. Only a hundred or so musicians came, so I got to talk to him.What a great person. Humble.He discussed touring with Eric Clapton and the song "Lay down Sally."How he got the sound. He played the chording and it sounded exactly like thetune. Cool. My band plays the tune and I think about him every time we play it.

As long I have listened to music, Albert Lee has been there, showing up here and there and everywhere. And what a guitar player! He has brought so much joy to so many people. Seems like a nice guy too :-)

Chuck Berry used to come out with his guitar, plug into whatever amp was there, no pedals and rock the audience. Albert Lee has his guitar, no pedals (that I know of) plugs in and just plays. You can tell he loves the music and the people he plays with. He fits in with the C&W/bluegrass scene where your playing counts before your stage acting. Hope he plays music on guitar, piano or bassoon all his days .

Love his pickin' on the Guitar. Brent Mason and Albert Lee are my two favorite players. Wish I can see both Albert and Brent playing some up beat song with their hot licks together.

I love Abert Lee but... Mr. Telecaster is a bit of a misnomer i think. Mr. MusicMan would be in order seeing as he's been playing his signature model for at least 30 yrs now, don'tya think ?!

I went to an evening gig Albert did at the Stafford Gatehouse a few years ago, the venue half empty..........Philistines !.

Worked at a record store in Vegas, A lady comes in and wants to get something new..That night I was going to see Albert play with Joe Cocker(Pete Gavin was the drummer) and it was Alberts GF as I showed her an Albert Lee l.p...Another time my buddy and I ( He wqas a great guitar player) went to see his drummer play at the lounge at the old Sahara Hotel he was playing with a chcik songer. We had comps and sat at a table with Ritchie Blackmore. We asked him about other guitar players. He was better than Joe Pass, Tal Farlowe and all other..I asked him after about 10 m,inutes of this what he thought of Albert Lee..He exclaimed ,"he the best, Me and Page used to take our lil tape recorders and record him when he was with Chris Farlowe and the Thunderbirds!" He then said that's how we learned to play solo's by slowing down the tape player! Give a listen to Haeads, Hands and Feet .
