@@a.vphanindra3589 If you’re coming to Edmonton as a student, you can drive on your Indian license coupled with your study permit,as long as you have got enough practice and experience. If not, you would need to bring an IDP(International Driver’s Permit) from india(RTO) which allows you to drive in Canada for 1 year. You will have to carry your Indian driving license (LMV) along with the IDP. After one year, to get a Canadian license, you will appear for Class 7 knowledge test>>>give up your Indian license >>>apply for GDP exemption program >>> get a Canadian full drivers license (class 5) if you successfully pass the road test. I hope this answers your question.

In Alberta we don't have G1 driving license test instead there is Class 5 and Class 7.

I think in that case you need to provide some residential proof to give the driving test. Also you can go to registry to know if you are eligible for the driving test.

In registry you can make appointments for the road tests.

You need to confirm with registry in Alberta .

3years ago knowledge test per cost CAD $17 and learners drivers per cost around CAD $90. Current charges may vary.

Im from Edmonton not much aware about Calgary. But you can research online about Calgary.
